Skating Grandma Gets Wish of a Lifetime

Caring about Canadian seniors comes naturally to Kurt Browning. In fact, on June 8th he helped to make a senior’s dream come true by skating with Moncton native Pat Noddin, 79. Pat, who learned to figure skate at age 58, always dreamed of skating with Kurt Browning. “It was the thrill of a lifetime. To think I got to skate with Kurt Browning, Don Jackson and Brian Orser, it was an incredible moment,” she said.

Oh I love this. I am 58 and have wanted to learn to ice skate most of my life. I only ever had ice skates on once when I was in elementary school and we went ice skating on a field trip. I loved it. My late mother and I used to watch figure skating every time it was on TV. Lately the desire to learn has returned but I keep thinking, I'm 58. I'm too old now. After seeing this video I think it's a sign that I can. Thank you.

I also wanted to ice skate, but tried when I was a teenager and could not stay on the blades. I was so disappointed. I'm now 64 and know it's too late. Figure skating is the only 'sport' I've ever been able to watch on tv. The rest is boring. And I love Kurt Browning and would love to know how he's doing now and how the family is.
