Man, Leonard and Howard were both humiliated, used, backstab, betrayed, cheated, and heart broken from their high school crush.
While Howard was setup and humiliated by a popular girl and the football team by a prank. Leonard felt used and cheated by a girl for doing her homework, getting in Cornell University by writing her essay all the while she simply slack in school by drinking. Then he try to meet her again at Cornell but soon get backstabbed from her crush by acting like she's doesn't know him at all.
Word of advice: don't develop a crushed to anyone based in their looks, no matter hot they are. Find someone who has a good personality and heart. Then you find happiness.
Hopefully the girl failed in Cornell cuz Leonard wasn't there to help anymore and they take academic integrity very seriously.
Let's be real. Attarctiveness is more important than personality
Terrible advice though. Personality and heart is not something you can see from afar. If you're not attracted to the person you're dating, you'll grow miserable and repulsed by them over time. It's better to stay single until you find someone whom you can click with both physically and emotionally.
Imagine if they got whatever girl they went for…
They would end up with their lives ruined. As bad as those moments were, it would’ve been far worse with them.
Well man I mean you can’t really control a crush as they are usually based on looks but you control on trying to start a relationship that’s when you start looking at personality not for a simple crush

Thank you very much for these amusing snippets - a few seconds laughter during another depressing day . Now, genuine question because I’ve noticed in the very few American shows I’ve seen and movies …….., teenagers are always “going to the Mall “ or wanting to go to the Mall. In South Africa , the Mall was a place with a collection of shops…..a supermarket , clothes shops , stationers , a video rental shop , that type of thing , all in one place . Is it the same in America and if so, why would young people want to spend time there ?
Malls in America are a mix of giant department stores, small specialized clothing shops, food courts, restaurants, book stores and other specialized shops. All of these are in a massive building housing them all along with a massive internal space to allow inside travel between them all. The reason people want to hang out at the mall is that there is lots to see, do and eat at the mall.

Covid is killing the malls, but malls in usa were the best places to hang out for most of the last 40 years.
