1970 Lancia Stratos HF Zero
Probably the most beautiful Concept car ever made and we worked on it?? Wait what?? 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I can’t still believe it and I feel so blessed
I'm really thankful for this amazing opportunity and trust 🙏🏽
Also thank you @PetersenMuseum for providing the space.
So what we have done:
1. wash and general cleaning
2. clean the paint with clay mitt
3. masking parts and area before paint correction
4. Multi-step paint correction (we used 5" microfiber pad + with medium and soft foam pads, 3" and 1" as well for smaller areas)
5. Clean the paint with isopropyl alcohol
6. Polish aluminum & chrome parts
7. Clean the interior and engine bay
8. 3 layers of Ceramic Coating from Kamikaze Collection (Zipang, Miyabi and Zipang) - Auta a dopravní prostředky
You cleaned and shined the legend, the Wedge Grandaddy of the Countach and Diablo by the man who designed both. It's strange for us Americans to think of "design" companies like Bertone or Pininfarina. For us a Corvette is just a Corvette. Gandini made this for Bertone so they could get Lancia's attention after Fiat bought them, but they were not interested (then). Legend has it Nuccio Bertone drove it to Lancia's Turin headquarters, was refused entrance, so he drove it UNDER the barrier gate. The similarly wild Pininfarina Modulo is from the same year, the sci-fi and NASA moon landings must've been in the Italians' heads, but this one is the jewel.
Thats an amazing story!!! Whoa 🤯🤯
Being trusted to physically touch that piece of history shows how much respect you have in the industry.
Thank you so much!
No one could say it better, that is respect.
@@IAMDetailing that's incredible and a night at the museum I wouldn't forget,, love it,, you brought the car and museum to life ❤️👍am I correct that you were working through the night and in the day back on public view hence the re-masking?
@@robmarrin6720 Thank you Rob and yes you are correct (almost) we worked almost every day from 3am till public will show up around 9:30-10am.
My favorite car growing up. I can’t believe you got the chance to preserve it like this. Superb work! Bravo
Yeah I can’t still believe too 😄 5years ago didn’t speak english a word, moved to different country with very little money and now this 🤯🙂🙌🏽🙏🏽
Thank you 🙏🏽
it's hard to believe that car is over 50 years old, it looks like something out of Cyberpunk 2077.
Yeah cause cyberpunk used the design of the car in their game.
It was how they imagined future cars back in the late 60s
cars in 2077 look like boxes on wheels? I don't think so
It's a tesla cyber truck in supercar form before elon ever even thought of it
Only it glitches less
That reminds me that my car is only 4 or 5 months away from it's anual 20 minute wash...
The importance of this car cannot be overstated. This is the most important car to come out of Bertone and from Mr Marcello Ghandini. I remember seeing this car in silver in pictures in the 80's. Being able to work on this car is a high honor. It's like being allowed to polish the Hope diamond. This Stratos Zero is the most beautiful car in the world. I wish Bertone hadn't gone bankrupt. Thank you.
Love reaction like this and also that you know something about the car... Thank you for your comment really appreciate it.
Piece of art, a masterpiece, the most futuristic automobile ever built, way ahead of it's time, Marcello Gandini best design, of Bertone.
But can it drive? Engine, drivetrain, brakes, suspension matters.
Not even

Looks wack to me. Italians should design clothes and pizza , not cars 😂😂😂
@@13garage._ How much difference there's between taylors and car designers? Italians are actually more famous for car design than for clothes or... pizza(?). And even more for "normal" cars than for those concept prototypes. Who do you think has designed the VW Golf, just to say one?
Casey Putsch is building a V12 version of this very car. Search King Zero build. Great video - love the quality of the detailing. The music was great too.
I never knew space ships had road tires. This thing was WAY ahead of it's time
This and the Alfa Romeo Carabo are I think the 2 coolest looking cars ever made.
I'm struggling to se what's so futuristic. Similar prototypes have existed sins the 60s and probprobably before.
@@virtualmoyda7221 It's not futuristic in terms of engineering, just as a design exercise.
Actually the design was made by Marcello Gandini the chief designer of Bertone that period. He's first main act was the Lamborghini Miura.
@DeadlyButSilent2
Nope, Gandini designed the Miura as well, he was just 25 when he did it.
This is a Countach before the Countach! One of the most iconic concept car. And it's still hits great.
The Countach's designed by Marcello Gandini as well, you can truly see his style in these cars.
Desaing pure fantasy aesthetic innovation .. Luxury style with attention to detail. This has always been the strong point of the machines designed and built in Italy. Not to mention that the road version of the Stratos has also won several grand prizes in rallies. Italian pride
Lucky man you had touched a pice of art and you did an amazing job
Genius garage is building something close to this. He took inspiration from it. That is pure art on wheels.
What an honour. I have always loved the optimism these designs had. Perhaps we need more of that these days
Wow what a car. Awesome experience for you and us. Thanks for sharing that bro 👍🏻
Glad you like it
Thank you 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Oh No.. Hard to unsee those visible micro-scratches.. Overall very intriguing and futuristic piece of art.
A 5mil dollar worth car looks like the average car on the streets with all those swirls. Lol
Great choice in colour, too. Everything about this car was perfect.
We agree!
This is the ultimate concept car ever made.
The mother of All actual lambos
Wow, 5 short days, 10 thousand bucks. Good job dude
I fell in love on first sight, I can't believe this was designed 50 years ago. Definitely my new all time favorite car design.
Italian Masterpiece!
Bertone’s absolute masterpiece - one of the most advanced, futuristic cars of all times, seriously.
Only one in the world ... @CaseyPutch Casey putch say “ hold my beer “
Well it will c more sun than this car
This design is insane. Your job too!
50 years old and still looks like it's from at least 50 years away in the future.
Lavoro eccellente, grande professionalità
La Stratos Zero non poteva chiedere di meglio 👏
this was on display at my local museum several years back. It’s amazing.
Best looking car ever and a detail worthy of it.
Looks absolutely stunning!!! You did an incredible job on this Bertone masterpiece!!
Now that is a buff, well done! I have been in the industry for 25years and that is some amazing skills practiced by people who take pride in their work. Hats off
Fantastic Job , and this video is the ideal way to see this iconic masterpiece design from all angles !!!
Such a unique car. Thanks for sharing this detail. Nice work, too. Looks great
This was the first time in a long time I actually watched an entire video on yt 😳 ps it was brilliant 👏👌
This car is detailed so cleanly the end shots look like a 3D render. 5 days we'll spent bringing the shine back to a visionary one-off that has a special place in my heart.
Dude that car is an icon. Well done!
seen your work and understand the details and love you put into this. AAA+++
I can see how the Countach was born.
Being tasked with working on such an icon is a testament to the quality of work that you do... Amazing work very lucky to be up close and personal with such an iconic automobile.
Beautiful job on a beautiful car. Amazing.
That is just astoundingly beautiful.
Nice job. 33 inches of height the Stratos zero !
Thank you :) yeah the height is pretty crazy low
Great job, loved the music, retro and went with the car.
It's so incredible that this wild radical car is o er a half century old !!!! . The 1970 Lanica Stratos is SO LOW to the ground and is truly wild Back to the future design ;!!!!!.... It's STILL a car that is Futuristic and ahead of it's time.
Wow absolutely beautiful. Great job
Thank you! 😊
Looks new. Excellent work.
The thought of this in the sunshine with white and double-yellow lines reflecting off it along the road 😍
It's nuts to imagine being THAT intimate with such a design icon. Great job!
Casey Putch should watch this
Agreed.
He probably has/is or will dont you think?
Thanks for taking such good care of that car we all love so much. Appreciate the video as well, it contained many views of the car I never saw. I was a child when it came out and studied the very rare photograph I had with that particular obsession of a confused 8-year-old. But the photographs left so many unanswered questions due to the unconventional design. Appreciate your work!
Great to hear that 🙏🏽🙌🏽 and we very appreciate your comment
What an outstanding wet-look and perfect finish! 👍👌💜
Glad you like it!
Waauw.

Must be a joyous and Victorious feeling to be asked for this one. Ans like you told, starting a new life, in a foreign country, with a for you foreign language.
Wonderfull!
Craftsmanship is always beautifull to watch
Enjoy!
We can clearly see where the Countach came from!
Honestly the sharp angles and flat(ish) panels make a car like this easier to do imo beautifully done
Absolutely Beautiful...
just beautiful ! great job !
Formidable. Awesome job, awesome car.
8:30 That song really fits this. Its like a 70s scifi groove
Yeah bro, I wish I knew the title of this sweet sounding track. 👌🏾💯😊
Bertone, my godness. U are the greatest man to have ever lived.
I've seen It live in Italy 20 yrs ago, still have goosebumps... It's incredibly small
I couldn’t help but notice the W210/S210 Mercedes that you drove in with! I absolutely love these. Nice job detailing too!
Yeah it was my wagon e320 (with full amg look) 😬 thank you
Nice. I’ve got a 2000 E320 wagon myself with 235,000mi and still going strong! I’ve seen your videos on the dry ice cleaning and man I wish I could have that done to mine!
Stunning job, well done!🇨🇦👍
Insane car, killer work!
Care and diligence your ethics are fantastic 👍❤️
100% sure I saw this in the Whacky Races as a kid
This cars deserves a revival and be in production, this is how the real future looks anyway. Less than this is retro.
WOW.... I love that car!!!
Casey Putsch is watching respectfully! 😍
Also, HOW have I NEVER noticed that rear view mirror?!
Lucky dude. But that result... Just wow. Love your work
Absolutely incredible work my friend. 👊
That paint ended up like glass 😮 just amazing.
Such a beautiful car and a really amazing job by you but I can't help thinking this would be more at home flying through space than on a road.
Great car and great work.
The imagination and ability to build this car 50 years ago is mind boggling.
Defo lost something along the way with the rubbish boxes on wheels we have today.
I'm thinking this design would be great reimagined with an electric drive train.
I love watching your 💪work
@CaseyPutch worth a watch
Another great paint restoration. Thanks for the longer video. Much appreciated. This car is quite phenomenal. A bit like the Vector W2/W8 which came a few years after.
Glad you enjoyed it I was thinking about you when I make it :D because you wanted longer video
Thank you
flipante, es super guapo el stratos.... uuaaauuu!!
You work on dream cars every Day 👍👍👍😎
Superbe concept car et superbe job. Bravo pour le montage et le son.
🙏🏽🙏🏽😉
The way it outta look!
Seen the zero on person back in 2014 Hampton Court concours.
Did a stain glass panel of that amazing Lancia.
Only 10k to keep it clean? That's worth it!
This car is so sexy. Too bad it's not in production. I always wonder what are the racers perspectives on how they look if they had a chance to turn this into a track monster.
you do good work !
I take pride in my job..I treat the cars as a diamond 💎....looking to make every facet sparkle.. I've been detailing for 25+ years...and every vehicle is different. Love my job.
Perfeito! finesse it is magic!
Good work
Impressive.
I like your video . Try to make a inside view of the cockpit next time . And that would be perfect
Reminds me of the pink pather mobile from the 70s
Nice.
Nice car I like it
I have seen this car in person and it looks way better irl than in pics or vids
The cartoon the pink panther had 1 of these
El COCHE, de mi deseo... me encanta desde pequeño, este moderno, es flipante
Absolutely genius design language
What a groundbraking design in 1970 the wedge really got started!
Beautifull.What styling.
00:00 That guy's face lol
Love this car. Hope blueprints are somewhere. Would be wise to make sure this piece of art can be replicated.
Coolest. Car. Ever.
