    When winding the calliper in the LHS do you turn it anticlockwise or is it clockwise for both sides?

      Thank you for the comment!
      The caliper piston should be pressed clockwise regardless of the side.

    Does the handbrake cable need any adjustment after this replacement or it's not necessary?

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  Před 4 lety

      Thank you for the comment!
      Since the pads are new, the handbrake cables should be slightly tightened.
      Stay tuned and follow our latest updates.

      @autodocuk  Před 2 lety

      Hi! In general, the replacement will be similar, the only thing may be slightly different in the design features of your car. You can find more detailed information in the technical documentation for the repair of your car.

    Hi. Why do the piston slots have to be aligned with the notches on the back of the brake pad? I have toyota auris. Thanks.

    • @harryw9598
      @harryw9598 Před 3 lety

      hi, its to prevent the pistons from turning, remember if they turn they can get to tight or loose,
      do be careful when working on brakes.

  • @alanwilliams3677
    @alanwilliams3677 Před rokem

    Doesn't say which direction piston should be screwed in. Is driver's side clockwise, passenger side anti-clockwise? That's what I've seen on other videos.

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  Před rokem

      It is not possible to answer your question unambiguously, you can find out this information in the technical documentation for repairing your car.

      If we had access to that, why would we be here? Your changing the pads on a specific car, so why not give any pertinent information relating to the job featured in the video? Pistons have to be wound in, not simply forced in using a G.clamp; does it matter which way, as claimed by some street mechanics, or not?@@autodocuk

    Hi. I just changed my car's rear braking pads and when I press the brakes and release them it's squeak. Very loud. Do you have any idea what's the problem? I would be very grateful.

    I've got new brake pads and disc done on my 07 Toyota auris but it has failed a test on brake imbalance. Why is this

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  Před 3 lety

      Perhaps these parts are of poor quality and cannot withstand overload.

    my experience today is telling me you need left hand & right hand brake caliper reset tool for Toyota auris hybrid 2015. Don't trust universal tooling easily.
