This Twilight Garden
i lift my lips from kissing you
to kiss the sky
cloud soft and blue
and slow the sun melts down
into your golden words for me
i lift my hands from touching you
to touch the wind that whispers through
this twilight garden
turns into a world
where dreams are real
no-one will ever take your place
i am lost in you
no-one will ever take your place
so in love with you
i lift my eyes from watching you
to watch the star rise shine onto
your dreaming face and dreaming smile
you're dreaming worlds for me
no-one will ever take your place
i am lost in you
no-one will ever take your place
so in love with you
i lift my lips from kissing you
and kiss the sky wide deepest blue
and slow the moon swims up
into your golden words for me
no-one will ever take your place
i am lost in you
no-one will ever take your place
so in love with you
no-one will ever take your place
i am lost in you
no-one will ever take your place - Hudba
One of the most beautiful songs of all time......yet hardly anyone except for cure fans have ever heard it.
B side.
hello
I heard it live yesterday at their gig in Milan, simply beautiful
only hardcore fans know this song :)
In Brazil have this one.
well done to rick beato for bringing this beautiful cure recording to us..absolutely haunting cure!
I came here because Rick Beato. How I've not heard this epic gem before I don't know...
I came here cause i'm a Cure fan, but I'll check Rick Beato.
been a cure fan for 35 years and never heard this song until Beato mentioned it in his video.
Yes it’s a good song but it’s his no 1 cure song of all time!! How ???
@@cornflakegirl1718 search “Rick Beato Cure” specifically
I can't believe I just found this. I have been a huge fan of The Cure since I was in my late teens; I am now 52 in two weeks, but this has escaped me until now...best Monday EVER!!!
Your freaking awesome
Congratulations! Same age. I've loved this ever since it was released on the High CD single, still have it. I started out in 86-87 when my late cousin brought this new music back from his Army AIT in Denver. I hated The Cure for months. By the time Disintegration came out I was counting the days until I could walk to the music store near auburn univ to get it.
Same here, Kari! 55 and a big Cure fan back in the 80s and 90s and yet this song has escaped me as well until this very moment (Friday, December 23, 2022, 6:25pm ET).

can't explain the ambiance the cure can create in their songs, its truly ethereal

Thanks Rick Beato for introducing us to this hidden gem..
Well said. 😎🍿
This is the best, but there is another B-side of this album called "Halo" that is also a gem.
yup I just heard it over there for the first time! so good
one of the most beautiful songs in the world
I agree 100%
Absolutely ❤

The atmosphere is so intense. Such a beautiful composition.
Keyboards sounding like a lament bring a lot to this song, plus Robert Smith's echo-treated sepulchral and magnificent voice.
When the b-side is better then the A-side
This is by far the best Cure song, in my opinion.
@@rafaelbriganti502agree🎉 a song that can be said to rival the songs on the disintegration album
This and Chain of Flowers are so good. They were killing it with the B-sides
Finally somebody said that! Those two songs are probably my most favourite from the Cure
@@lilyphilia3302the exploding boy is a killer b side too.
Is there a song on this earth more haunting, beautiful, and heartbreaking than this pure diamond? Robert Smith is a giant. Eternal respect.

Salutations à toi, Roberto !!
Beautiful. Robert Smith is a music genius.

yes, he has the gift of music and lyrics with him
he surely is, love him tons
One of a kind
Quite possibly the most beautiful song ever.
Amen
This and Pictures of You and Last Dance
Not possibly for sure!
One of the three best Cure songs ever. Why it was released as a B-side I'll never understand. It gives me the shivers every time I listen to it.
It's really beautiful 😊
Fu scartata dal LP "Open"
Non posso capire il perché. È un brano stupendo.
Tis a underrated gem of there's- one you keep coming back to 😎
Me too
I found this on a Reddit post, but apparently Robert Smith regrets not putting it instead of Wendy Time on the album Wish when they released it in 1992 :
" Robert Smith told Record Collector magazine in 2004 that he wanted “This Twilight Garden” on Wish, not as a B-side:
“This Twilight Garden” is my favorite B-side of all - it’s got a lovely atmosphere to it and I can’t understand how that didn’t get on Wish, while something like “Wendy Time” did. It made me realize that when sequencing an album, a better song will get left off for the sake of the album as a whole. I never thought “Wendy Time” worked, but whenever we tried to replace it, the album seemed to go soft. But I think it was a mistake to leave “This Twilight Garden” off. "
I can't stop crying, i miss her so much
God, the love he feels for Mary is just so bloody beautiful I just can't...
The most perfect love song of all time. He didnt give it to the world because it was for love. Kept aside on purpose. Meant for her. Meant for us. And the lyrics are so serene , that they are about love and beauty itself.
When I discovered this song, it became one of my favorites. It is perfect.
Truly. It is.
My favorite cure song.
Yes deff a perfect love song, would almost start to believe in real love again, better stick to the song
Until now 2022 Oct CD will be out
If I ever get married I want this to be the main song. The one I slow dance to with my special guy and just feel like I'm floating and nothing else matters except him and I lost in such a beautiful and magnificent song🖤
Ughhh.....it's taken years to come to this final conclusion, but for me, the time between Disintegration and Wish is my absolute favorite era of Cure. The etherial, otherworldly feel of all those layers and delay and chorus and just the whole dreamy, intixicating mess, along with the romantic lyrics is just the absolute peak for me. This and A Foolish Arrangement are among my favorite Cure songs ever. I wish they could've stayed like this forever, but I guess that it would not be such a special, fleeting moment in time. We can at least enjoy and savor what that era brought us. :)
I can confirm this 100%. I'm not sure why they chose these masterpieces to linger as b-sides, they are up to their best ever - and their catalogue is huge.
Couldn't agree more!
Funny I was just listening to A Foolish Arrangement the other day; the Wish era had some special moments, and yeah absolutely Foolish and this song are pure gems.
The time has come! 30/year anniversary CD on sale Oct 2022!!

I bought this song as a cassette single (with High on the A-side) in 1992 as a 14 year old kid. It was the first music by The Cure I had ever purchased. If I only knew that it would be the start of a lifelong musical romance with this band. I remember that day like it was yesterday...
BTW although High is a fantastic song this track was always my favorite the moment I first listened to it. So beautiful and ethereal.
They played it for the first time last night in New Orleans! I could not believe what I was hearing. It was the one never played song that I was hoping they would play. Beautifully played.

+T Dunaway (Queen New Wave) This is one of my favourite Cure songs; I'm seeing them in November in the UK and I hope so so much that they play it!!
Awesome. Just in time for the Vampire Grand Masquerade.
“Burn,” my favorite Cure song, was also played for the first time ever in NOLA (2013)
I was at that show (first night) and it was everything I ever dreamed it would be. Easily the single greatest concert experience of my life. Hearing This Twilight Garden live was something I'd dearly hoped for but I never imagined that it would actually happen. I loathe the extreme heat and humidity here and stick to air conditioning but that night in New Orleans, I gladly endured that stuffy arena.
I just hope that we can get this pandemic under control enough so that we can safely see them on their next US tour, though I suppose at this point Robert's the only original member.
Discovered this via Rick Beato.
Wow, what a brilliant track, both instrumentally and lyrically.

I've been a massive Cure fan since forever, and am so glad others have found this hidden gem of a track. Truly a work of perfection among so many perfect songs the Cure have done!
Absolute magic 🖤… I float whenever I listen to this. Robbie’s pure love.🖤
As a The Cure fan i have never heard one of their most beautiful song's. I am ashamed but also grateful that i finally can enjoy it. Thanks fir sharing!
"I lift my lips from kissing you to kiss the sky cloud soft and blue" what a great line and it sound so great with Robert's voice
Thousands of younger (even older) bands would kill for writing such a fantastic song. Simply amazing.

This is the reason why people love The Cure. This above average band matches up perfectly with Mr. Smith. The hypnotic Robert pulls you in emotionally with the way he belts out his tunes. Too many awesome tracks to speak of. One of my favorites for life.
Thanks Rick Beato!
Masterpiece. 🌟
Rick Beato got me here… I’m a cure fan and didn’t know about this one! what an amazing gift 💞
Also here thanks to Rick Beato. This reminds me of 80s U2 B-sides which were often atmospheric gems better than A-sides.
Maybe one of the best & beautiful love songs ever written and performed... timeless. Outstanding.
Thank you for mentioning this gem, Rick Beato.
I keep listening to this over and over , It takes me to another world so far away
Heavenly song, beautiful guitar.

This is one of Roberts best.
one of the most romantic beautiful songs ever written. no lyric sites can get the words right.
An incredible song, and one that deserves to be more well-known than it is. One of the Cure's very best.
Seriously, though, why wasn't this ever on one of their albums? This is probably the quintessential Cure song.
Written with loads of love for his wife & not for the big public
It was released as a B-side extra on a single CD from Wish. i forget which song.

The Cure are immense. Unique sound, innovative, superb musicianship, and one of the best song writers in popular music history.
They are truly great.
Thanks Rick.
The cure!!!!! forever my favorite group
The cure is all about unique mood, ambience and sound. Goth maybe but more than thatvI think it speak to depression and mental illness as well.
One of the greatest songs ever. One of my all time favorites. Its really personal to me.
The movement of the chords and atmosphere is both unexpected and otherworldly. Stunning.
Getting lost in this dreamy song as 2020 mercifully comes to a close. Easily among my top 5 favorite Cure songs.
The first time I listened to this song was when it came out as the B-side of the High on a CD booth in a store in 1992, I had liked it but had also ignored it. After more than 30 years, that moment I listened to it the second time , thanks to Rick Beato, I traveled back in time to that spedific moment . After so many years… somehow my brain memorized it. This must be and is a very powerful song
This song…. So beautiful
"I lift my eyes from watching you
to watch the star rise shine onto
your dreaming face and dreaming smile
you're dreaming worlds for me."
Raw, evocative and mellifluous romanticism...
one of the best songs of the cure
Over the years, I have developed this deep connection with the cure and their songs that make me cherish every stage of life. Love this band from the last 15 years. They never go out of style.
A masterpiece!
This is what the Cure is about, just the soakingly lovely layered beauty only possible in this medium with these artists.the sound track of the best of my life. Robert helps me to live in a dream state. What a gift.
Perfect song for a soulmate
Boleyn -I agree even if your soulmate has passed away.
This song is one of those to the sound of which you wake up and you keep it in your head for the rest of the day...
I used to be a big The Cure fan. I have all albums of them until 'Disintegration', knew almost every text etc. Then I lost sight a little and did not like the later stuff so much anymore. And now more or less by accident I found this gem. Such a beautiful song (sounds a bit as if it should have been part of Disintegration).
I am now wondering what I have done during the last 30 years to have missed this. How life has changed me and my perpsective on Music. There will always be times when you go back to your roots, I suppose. Leaves with a little bit of sadness and gratitude at the same time. And when i think about it, these have been my old friends when listening to The Cure anyways.
Thanks for uploading!

I feel so bad for not giving The Cure a chance up until very recently.
I can’t actually fathom how I said “Oh I only love Just Like Heaven” when they have THIS!

A world where dreams are real. This song perfectly encapsulates how much love I feel for somebody, no matter what. The Cure is in my opinion the best band of all time because they truly know how to cut into that emotion that we all feel, and portray it so realistically. And that is why they are my favourite. I can only wish I meet somebody someday who shares my love of The Cure, so we can share our love of it together.
O.k. lets meet.
