I’m not going to lie… I feel like we’re being way too harsh on Justin Baldoni
JUSTICE FOR JUSTIN BALDONI! Before Jane the Virgin he was a CZcamsr producing videos with a team called soul pancake. They have a series called my last days where they profiled terminally ill people and their families to leave them with something to hold onto and secure their legacy. Zach Sobiech specifically was an amazing story which turned out to be a Disney fill later on called clouds with Sabrina carpenter. He directed 5 feet apart which was another book adaptation which was beautiful and soulcrushing. Jane the virgin is not the reason he’s a producer or director, it was his break into tv and non-CZcams media. His proposal was giving family blogger bc at the time he was not on JTV and was literally a CZcamsr and those elaborate videos were super popular. I love you girlies but you’re being blinded and not being fair to Justin baldoni. I love Blake lively but like you guys said, she’s not a movie star or super well versed in this world either!!

Claudia knows nothing about Justin Baldoni, yet is talking like she’s an expert on his character.. Anyone who follows him and knows him knows he’s a PGOM. There’s been rumblings for years about how hard Blake is to work with. It’s more probable Blake and Ryan are the issue, their egos are huge.
Glad to see a few of the comments that I did here. I've been listening to episodes regularly for a while, but this is the first in a min where I had to pause. I'm not the first person to jump at defending a man when he may be wrong so don't get it twisted, but this is all based on conjecture. There definitely seems to be something going on with the movie and the premiere, but whether it is marketing or nefarious remains to be seen.
You ladies usually always give opinion with an acknowledgment that information is/may be missing or opinions may change as more information comes to light. This wasn't that and felt almost mean towards Justin without really any solid information to indicate it's warranted. Everyone does cringe things so maybe his proposal video is, I haven't seen it and I'll leave my judgment out. But I will say the few parts of his podcast that I've watched certainly don't paint him in this light. He does it with another man and a female who does a separate podcast under the armchair expert umbrella. They often are very educational and enlightening episodes to listen to. Just because those go well doesn't mean Justin is a saint. But also just because people online are hypothesizing that he's not doesn't mean that they are right.
You ladies have been doing such girl boss stuff, Im not glad to see the mean girl vibe winning out here. Clowning on a proposal video or the amount of episodes another podcast puts out feels beneath you. We're all human and have our moments so hope you take this as constructive criticism from a fan. Y'all been leveling up ladies so please stay there and be open-minded!

I feel like Justin is unhappy with the way the movie is being promoted. From the films he's been a part of in the past, it seems like he tries to bring awareness to heavy topics--the way Blake & the others have been promoting it doesn't seem to do that at all. Maybe he's distancing himself from it for that reason or there's just been disagreement in how it's being handled.
The thing is he still follows all of them, but they stopped following him.
Everything I know about Justin Baldoni has been against my will .

I saw a comment on TikTok that made sense from a girl whose dad is a studio exec. Supposedly Blake and Ryan imposed a lot of direction of the film because they think Blake can get an Oscar nom with this role (!?) and Justin Baldoni got pushed aside but they kept his director credit so he can be the scapegoat if the movie flops. The studio was considering replacing Blake but then Colleen Hoover sided with Blake and Ryan.

Gals- As a woman who binged watched every episode of Jane the Virgin during quarantine, I couldn’t have told you Justin Baldoni’s name if my life depended on it. When you guys started talking about him this week, I had to straight up Google him.

People are allowed to be sad that the Eras show they planned over a year for was cancelled. Claudia went to multiple shows and some people haven’t gone yet and many traveled from all over the world to go to their first show and wont be able to just pay to go another time. They can be sad and glad no one was harmed at the same time.
