What I love about Jinjer is that every band member plays to showcase the talents of their bandmates strengths. instead of competing with each other they keep trying to make sure their bandmates sound as awesome as they can be and in the process sound better themselves. You can hear their respect for each other and their creativity and you can hear all of that with every note and sound they produce. Every one plays for the band not themselves and its inspiring.

Vlad is amazing. I personally think he completed them. Not that the previous were bad - far from. But he uses so much more nuance in his style. Ghost notes, odd timings and flair. I think it brought them to the next level and it shows in their song writing on their recent albums/EPs.

This is one of my favourite songs of their because you can tell from Tatiana's performance it means something more to her. She is very aggressive, even downright beligerent on this one. And, of course, the music helps drive the point home.

Totally agree about Vlad's drumming - he's very lyrical in his drum phrasing as opposed to being just pattern-locked rhythmic. Also, notice that while his kit is set-up right-handed, he mostly plays it (traditionally speaking) left-handed: right hand on the snare, left hand on the high hat.

I'm glad you're covering bands like this on your channel. This is the first time I've heard Jinjer, and although their music isn't quite what I might put on a playlist, I think they're very interesting and super talented and skilled. I always like appreciating great music, even if it's music I may not want to listen to over and over. I also want to note that I tend to find bands who combine both clean and scream vocals more interesting than bands that solely use one or the other, and I like to think there are very good reasons for that.

This took my song of the year for 2019. The chopping between measures of 3/4 then 4/4 timing for the main body of the song, along with the way Vlad chooses to drum it, is SO brain-engaging. All 4 of them show technical excellence (as usual). And the atmospheric catch-your-breath section with Roman using floaty chords to create a soundscape with Eugene fingertapping melody while still using his left hand for lower stuff is delightfully musical.... & when Tatiana comes back in over that with those really tender vocals for a few bars.... o_O Just tremendous. :)
I'm going to assume you're going to take my advice & look at "Who Is Gonna Be The One" live next.... I was serious when I said it'd be a great place to launch your TankTries™ segment- I'd be *SO* impressed if you set up a 5-string to drop-A & recreate *that* fingertapped run Eugene does!! LOL ;)

They just recently dropped a live version of Sit Stay Roll Over (Live in Melbourne).
That one is really amazing. It's an older song of them, heavy AF !

JINJER and Nailed to Obscurity supported Amorphis and Soilwork on tour in EU around early 2019. It's likely that the footage in this video is taken from there, especially since you can spot a part of the Soilwork logo in a couple of places. Also makes sense with the covered up gear in the back.

Yup! Included that somewhere in a pop up in this video.

Who is gonna be the one if you want a great live performance.
The music video for Retrospection has a lot of behind the scenes shots tho.
Also I really like your little "tankfacts". Subbed :)

FYI Tatiana's 2 favorite songs they do are 'Pisces', and 'I Speak Astronomy'. 'I Speak Astronomy' isn't a Live performance, but has a really cool video.

: On a side note, I would like to give props to techs like you all over the world, it's a thankless job, first in & the last out for shows big or small. Affected very heavily by Covid19, hang in there guys, I wish you all the very best. Thank you, so much.
P.s. We all know what Jinjer brings to the table. What a rad entity these guys (and a gal) turn out to be.

@@TankTheTech That's cool. You've got a better hockey team now anyway, at least going by the last few years. Been planning a move somewhere South myself. 51 winters here are more than enough. Oh well, take care, man.

Every time i see a reaction video from you, I learn something. This time, that drummers sometimes use the stick the other way around. Thanks for this information!

Judgement and Punishment LIVE from Australia earlier this year. The guitar tone is the best part. Well, that and Tati’s ability to change her styles so quick as well as hop up and down while singing
