- In this video I show had to program an additional key for your new gen (2003-2011) Saab 9-3. If this video helped you out be sure to like, share and subscribe! Thanks for watching.
Additional Tech 2 Info
- CANdi stands for Controller Area Network Diagnostic Interface
- All 2003-2012 Saab 9-3's & 2006 and up Saab 9-5 model years require the use of a CANdi module
- TIS2000 works for vehicles up to 2007 model year. GM discontinued and replaced this program with GlobalTIS)
- GlobalTIS should work on the same model years as TIS2000 but extends to 2010 model years.
- 2011 and up model year 9-3 requires a temporary subscription to TIS2WEB from Orio
*Additional Key Fob/Remote Transmitter Info*
- US market cars (like the one shown in this video) as well as many other markets use 433MHz
- China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia use 315MHz
- If you have questions which frequency your key is, try entering your VIN on an official Saab website like www.esaabparts.com/keys/

**Quick clarification: My Saab is a United States vehicle. US market cars as well as many other markets use 433MHz. Other markets that do not use 433MHZ and use 315MHz instead include China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. If you have questions which frequency your key is, try entering your VIN on an official Saab website like www.esaabparts.com/keys/
.....just buy a tech 2.
fuck off.
how do I program a new fob with an original?
Bonsoir, merci pour cette vidéo car j’avais un doute avant de programmer des clés.
Thank you!
How do you do the security access to add a key for a 93
Super
My Saab '06 has 199k miles on her and probably a few years left. I've never purchased a Tech II but I'm considering getting one as my keys are old and tired. Should have done it years ago. What other features/abilities do you get with the Tech II that might be useful? Not sure I can justify it this late in its life. Thank for all the Saab content. Very useful for other owners of these aging cars like me.
Did you make the purchase? Have any luck? I’m trying to make the same decision however the GlobalTIS install/registration has me wondering if I can even accomplish this.
@@77ryan0341 Hey just want to say I am currently helping a friend do this with a tech 2 clone (vcx nano $$100) and we are running into issues with security access but may make a tutorial once we figure it out.
Our key still works in the ignition but, it no longer operates the alarm or door locks. It says battery low in the fob although its a new battery? i know you're probably tired of answering questions but any ideas?
What cables o connector I need to program key fob for 93 Saab 2005 linear
Thank you for the video I was wondering if you know a good seller of the tech 2? I'd appreciate any help .
Hello Phillip, www.aliexpress.com/ is a popular way people purchase tech2 clones. If you didn't want to buy new, you may get lucky and find a used tech2 clone on a Saab forum or eBay.
This was very helpful however, what if you lost the original key & have to start with a brand new one?
Need a new cim or virginize your old one. People on ebay will virginize them

Hey, you said that we need to buy 433MHz version of the key. I thought that US version used 315 MHz frequency. I have a US spec 9-3 and i need to buy spare key. Now i'm wondering which version should i buy? 433vs315?
Hello. Good question! I sometimes forget about other markets, so you bring up a good point about 315 MHz. United States vehicle's should be equipped with 433 MHz though. You can always input your VIN here www.esaabparts.com/keys/
@@WeakestofWeeks according to this webpage i need to buy 433 version. Thanks for the advice.
How much will you charge for a key I’ve lost the key for Sam 93 estate
Where to buy the key with transponder for 2001 model of saab 9-3 ?
How do I do this with a maxi 508
Can you tell me how to program a module with tech2000………. Can it be done , if not do you know how I can get globaltis down load … thanks
Will this work when my old key is damaged?? It still starts the car but no longer operates the alarm..
the battery connector on transmitter broke off!!
Car has no issues
Cheers
If your Saab recognizes your damaged key when inserted into the ignition and starts the car you can program a new key off of it. I'd recommend making a new replacement key off the damaged one before its totally dead and too late!
@@WeakestofWeeks thank you mate I have odered one from uk.. be 6 weeks or so
I got some keys from a junk yard to program but it seems that they're married to other cars. Is there a way around this or way to reset a used key?
Nope, you cannot reprogram keys already paired to another vehicle.
I had actually lost my key. Would I be able to program a new one without the original programmed key?
No unfortunately not yourself. A few companies can program a new key if you lost all of yours but it's expensive. Probably cheaper than a CIM replacement though.
Hey man. I was told to come to you for help with my tech2. If you would be willing to help my I would appreciate it. I've had it for 4 months and still haven't had any success.
What if I lost my only key.
Was in the same boat, o called a locksmith and he took the CIM off and took it with him.. cost me 500. You are better off buying a new cim with key

You skipped important step of hooking tech2 up to computer to get security access
This guy does not reply to your questions. What good is the video if you do not have access for authorization to use the Tech II machine.
.
Theres not enough time in the day to reply to everyones questions, especially when important information is within the videos description. Getting tech2 security access isn't as simple as turning on a switch. Here is the same link as in the description on obtaining access: czcams.com/video/YkrQt5Shgwc/video.html
@@WeakestofWeeks you're providing detailed information free of charge and someone is still going to bitch.
But can you all keys lost with tech 2
