Released in the late 60's as a 18v pedal, it appears there was a 9v version before it morphed into the famous Overdriver used by Jeff Beck. Going from preamp EQ to overdrive to british amp and all the way up to fuzz it boosts an impressive range of versatility. このシリーズを見ていくと、60s後半〜70s前半辺りのブースター、ファズ等のユニットは周波数帯域の範囲や歪んだ時の量や粗さの差こそあれど、アンプをプッシュすることやギター側ボリュームの反応の良さという点はある程度共通していて、後のいわゆるオーバードライブペダルには無い音のヌケ感があるというような認識になってきました。
何度も見にきてしまうくらいこの回のサウンド好き

about the pedal wired up for 9V: It seems that only the + sides of the batteries connect. the - of one battery connects with ground. The other battery's - connects with a pin on the circuit board that is not connected to any trace on the circuit board. The pin's only purpose was connecting the two PP3 snaps. Sure looks like a bad repair job to me...
Most Power Boosts with replaced battery snaps originally had PP4s. I guess wire that connected the two batteries often got lost, which is why so many of them only got one set of PP3 snaps when they were modified.

カラーサウンドのペダルはジェフベックがレコーディングで使用している写真の記憶が強い。ブローバイ〜ワイヤードの様々な個性的サウンドにココでも妙に合点する。また、ヤケに長いプレス成形のボディは、ワウやボリュームペダル用本体の流用なのかな？
