A lot of people use a speed square all the time for a 90° and dont know the basics of the tool that you've shown. At least i didn't.. Easy to follow and sufficient examples. Good job
I had no idea of how to make any kind of Angles or what a speedy square even was, well I went out and purchased one today; thank you so much for keeping it short and simple👍👍
The first and only “how to” video I’ve seen on CZcams that is concise, to the point, no BS, no crazy personality and wasted time. Very educational and time saving. Thank you. I have subscribed. Looking forward to more.
Oh lord! I watched so many videos and can’t believe how simple that was. Been going crazy trying to cut collar ties this week and 30 seconds of your video showed me the easiest and simplest way to find the angle. THANK YOU!!
If your new to wood working and cutting in general, this guy is the one on CZcams that will teach you the best. Simple and brakes it down for the average person. My wife could make a cut after watching one of his videos.
Not for nothing but I've looked at half a dozen videos that never explained this. It made me feel so dumb for not being able to use a speed square to find the angles I needed. I wound up buying all kinds of wrong equipment that never worked and guesstimated my cuts at best. Thank you.
I can drive a nail true and saw a board to size...BUT I had no idea how to figure the angles needed for so many building projects. Not only did your video teach me that but it also boosted my confidence to take on some of those projects involving rafters and such. Thank you so much Sir!
I've been in the building trade for years and it amazes me how many people don't know how to use a speed square. It's even more amazing to see people who use it for just a straight edge and think that's it's main purpose. The power this tool holds can unleash tremendous knowledge in the right hands. I'm sad to see that in today's society no one is willing to hand down useful knowledge on how to use these types of tools correctly on job sites and explain their purpose to the up and coming generation of builder's. How can we have reliable knowledgeable help if no one is willing to take literally maybe 30 seconds of time to teach this simple yet effective skill that every basic laborer should know. Building is so much fun and relatively easy if you know your tools and how to use them, it's very satisfying work.
Thank you. I've had a speed square for many years and only used it for 90° cuts and I always knew its made for other angles as well. Just never learned how to use it until your video. THANKS
Awesome content I’m a beginner you covered exactly what I was trying to tell a buddy if I had speed square, we could determine degree slope and roof pitch. Thank you help me lots. Now just gotta get the pvc boards cut correctly.
Thanks for the video. I bought one a year ago. Originally, I bought it just to make 90 degree lines. I've just started getting into Woodworking and wanted to learn how to make angled cuts into wood for a couple of projects that I wanted to do for this Fall. Thanks to your video, my tasks are going to be very easy for me now.
Excellent instructional video....clear, concise, and right on point. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video...saved me a lot of $$ using my trial and error guessing and screwing up my lumber. Thank you again!
I've done landscaping for about 19 years in February I feel two and a half stories cleaning gutters I have two pinched nerves so now I am doing so suji ban and making ax handles and hammer handles and tables and chairs and desk I am not a carpenter I am trying to learn I love doing it I don't even know how to make angles with a square This really helped me a lot I appreciate you! you break it down thoroughly and in English in a way I understand thanks! I subscribed 👍🏿 by the way I'm from East Tennessee
Always get confused about using the speed square. You made it really simple. Funny thing is I needed to make a 30 degree angle on some boards for a bench I'm going to make. You were off by 5 degrees !!! Thanks, again.
This is why a speed square is such an underrated tool man so versatile and extremely handy. Only long time builders understand its true uses and thats why its underrated
Used to build house Trusses. For anyone wishing to figure out angles this guy is good. I was looking around for just this type of video of people doing things wrong and having goofy music in the background. This video had neither. Great job.
You sir, have explained this the best I have ever seen. It’s like you actually want us to know How to actually use a speed square the proper way. Thank you again 😃
I previously only used my square to ensure hand cuts were square, but needs to figure out how to make 30 degree cuts for a project. This video explains how to really clearly, thanks!
This is all I needed to know, some of the other videos people are showing say they're going to teach you how to make these kind of cut but end up not doing so. I've been doing some woodworking on and off this year but I always stumble on making these kinds of cuts because I don't understand how to do them. And then I look around on CZcams trying to find someone and I just simply can't understand how are trying to teach me. I stopped your video at 1:27 and already understand it. Thanks for the help.
Thank you sir. I'm an old DIY man but never knew how to do anything with a speed square besides draw straight lines lol. I'm building a shed and making my own roof trusses. Watched another man tell what angle to use but he didn't go into detail about how to mark the angle. I guess I'm just a bit dense lol. Thank you again. You have a new subscriber.
I am so happy I found this video .I have a speed square and had no idea how to use it .I am renovating my home and that little tool will come in handy now . Thank you for sharing this video . its going to make things a lot easier.
Thank you for this simple refresher I had already knew how to read angles with a speed square but I feel I needed a re cap. Thank you sir I appreciate it. Will be using this on a simple project coming up
I really want to thank you for your simple and easy demonstration. I have always love carpentry but couldn’t find good understandable info to do it. Thanks again!!
Oh my gosh !!! I have been stressing on cutting the angel on my stairs. Watched your video after watching others that made zero sense to me. Got out a practice piece of sheet rock! BAMMMM! It worked!!! So dang thrilled!!
Thank you I'm embarrassed that I am only learning the basics but it's never to late to learn and better yourself.lookong forward to your other videos. Thank you
Thank you very much for this! I’m wanting to build a leaning roost-ladder for my chickens (seems like an easy, beginner-friendly project) & finding this video will help when I start, thanks!!
Thank you friend very simple and easy to follow. You spoke clear and deliberate which in my opinion is the correct and exact way to instruct and teach.
I'll be quite honest with you I've always use my ripsaw to make my degrees but since I watched your video I found out that it's a lot easier to use a speed square .... Thanks for the video guys like you makes jobs a lot easier for people like me.... Thanks again Sir!!!
No sales, no long intro, no sponsor, no bs. Thanks

Best explanation I've seen for a beginner's video. You showed exactly what I needed to perform this project I'm working on. Thank you

Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it
@@alftupper9359 i was about to write the same thing 😅😅😅
Are you assuming that all women suck at woodworking? Weird comment bud.
@@2nd-place I think he was more making a joke about his wife, good job trying to make this a woman's perception issue 3 years later though.
@2nd_place or just that his wife had JUST started woodworking
I totally appreciate the simplicity of how you explained it. It couldn't get any better than this. Thanks so much!
Not for nothing but I've looked at half a dozen videos that never explained this. It made me feel so dumb for not being able to use a speed square to find the angles I needed. I wound up buying all kinds of wrong equipment that never worked and guesstimated my cuts at best. Thank you.
Thanks , I'm new to this and it's good to have someone explain the basics.

I have been using one for years but really appreciated how concise your explanation was! Learned how to figure rafters!
