The girl is Amy Belle... my understanding is he met her in a subway station.... and offered her an opportunity.... this particular arrangement... is soooo good. And the entire arrangement builds to the Tenor Sax solo when the saxophonist breaks out... it gives me chills.... this arrangement may be my favorite for this song....

I’ve listened to so much music since I was 12 years old, mostly “Rock” but this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. I remember the first time I heard this was at a local bar with a singer/songwriter in front of a fireplace in Lake Orion, Michigan in 1977 and never forget the lyrics and the emotions emoted. I am black and one of my favourites band is red hot chilly peppers and others like U2, Pink Floyd, etc.... I was born in Portugal so I wasn't really exposed to rap music that much, I only start to know and listening to rap music when I moved to a different country. His Manager gave her contacts so that she could move and record to Los Angeles which she did with her Solicitor husband..
