      Thanks Jared, yeah its a great spot when its too windy for the bay. Catching so many small fish can get a little tedious but it should be a cracking fishery in a few years time when those EPs get bigger.

    Catch and cook a carp Alan, you can do it. A nice little curry dish beside the river. Apparently they are good tasting but the bones put people off.

      Yeah the weather has been really challenging lately to get out in the bay. Glad you still went out and caught a few reddies. Did you fish the Barwon aswell ?

    Hey Alan, love the vids. Do you use a scent on your plastics in the fresh water? Thanks for your work.

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  Před rokem

      Thanks Andrew, I rarely use scent when freshwater fishing. You could certainly put a little bit of s-factor, procure or aqua-x on the plastic or lure, but typically i dont to much when freshwater fishing.

  • @frozenorbist
    @frozenorbist Před 3 lety +1

    Thanks for putting out amazing videos! Do you use a metal clip and swivel for attaching soft plastics and lures onto your line or do you hand tie them?

    Out of interest where did I you get your savage shirt?

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks Tony I appreciate the positive feedback. I get all the Savage shirts from BCF. There really good, thin material UPV50+ and very comfortable. Lots of different designs, i tend to go for the plain looking ones. Keep an eye out as they often have good sales and promotions on them.

    Love the videos. My 8 year son and i cant wait for new vids to pop up. Any spots you could suggest to launch or that are accessible for kayaks on werribee or barwon river??? Im looking to fish it but can't find any useful information on areas that are good to launch. 😊

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  Před 3 lety +3

      Thanks Mathew, really glad to hear that you and your son enjoy the videos. For bawon we simply launch at queens park or fyans boat ramp. Easy launch areas which should be fine for your son. The trick is to fish light, and most of the fish will reside along the banks or within structure. The werribee river the best launch spot is at the historic park opposite the italian club. Parking and nice little jetty there. Can be a little arkward with big kayaks like a PA14. Again same rules apply hit the banks and structure with light spinning gear. Hope that help.s

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  Před 3 lety

      Hi Rose. I used to fish the Malmsbury quite regularly, however last time i went there the water level was so low that every bite that i got ended up getting snagged. I havent been for a little while now. There you will catch redfin, trout, carp and roach. You can see more here fishingmad.com.au/location/malmsbury-reservoir
