      ***** Most of the people in jail are male, and there is a huge disparity in the amount of crime committed by young men and older men too. The threat to society from most female prisoners is minimal, because they aren't responsible for 95% of the violent and sexual crime. Look into the statistics and you will see that this is true. Time and again studies have shown that women are punished far more harshly than men in court - often this means that if they had been male they wouldn't be in prison at all. If you're going to attack sexism, you need to look at what that means in terms of the actual crimes committed and the sexism already present in the current system.

      ***** as an ideology, especially on a small scale, I.E. in businesses. Communism shows good ideas, but as soon as human greed kicks in it goes to shit. for example, having the same pay within business is a lot fairer than those at the very top doing fuck all getting paid a stupid amount of money, while those at the bottom have to take up to 3 jobs just to make a living wage.

    • @lorenioooooas
      @lorenioooooas Před 9 lety +1

      Ukulemon L Yeah you're right lots of ideology are innately good, but when practised do still produce some evil, yet everyone always criticises these ideologies i.e religion etc, so why should communism not also get that same criticism.
      I accept that communism on paper is not necessarily bad, but it has been practised in a bad way, however that same argument could be said for a lot of ideologies that face these same criticisms every day.

      My main doubt was that they don't have a handle on the serious issues and this confirmed it. They should have presented a realistic plan for change. This is just a comedy sketch. I can't vote for them just on the basis they're not like the old school tie cabal that dominates Westminster, that's simply not a rational basis to vote for them. In fact, it would persuade me just not to vote.

      Lucas O'heyze they do indeed. the manifesto still hasn't been released yet, so I'd take a look at that when it is before you make up your mind on them. the whole point in this video was to move away from the doom and gloom of the current political scene while getting key policies across such as opposition to HS2, fracking and trident. while supporting the scrapping of tuition fees, renationalising the railway and putting public services back into the public hands

Substantial. HUGE.
      I'm not saying this as a tribalist. There are EMPIRICAL differences that make a huge difference. This is the IFS talking.

      Populist agendas have fuelled the anti-migrant rhetoric espoused by UKIP, something Labour have followed to the teeth. Populist agendas have fuelled the belief that Britain needs a nuclear deterrent, something Labour supports. Populist agendas have fuelled the belief that Austerity is necessary, something Labour supports.
      Labour succumbs to populist pandering all the time - it's why so many disaffected Labour supporters have moved to the green party.

      Political Bob I'll give you some reasons. I live in Europe, on the continent. And I'll tell you this: Britain's political establishment is a running gag here. It's extremely globalist and extremely progressive. You're giving away the most precious thing you have, a nation that used to have social cohesion. That's partially the fault of the corporate interests in politics, replacing meaningful social interaction with consumerism. Sure. But it's also the progressive left that's at fault, because it's added several new nations to Britain and sowed enormous cultural, religious and political division. All in the name of diversity. When the next set of riots break out - and it is a matter of time - remember that this is the price you pay for more ethnic, religious and cultural diversity.

      Josh Brown If you are a UKIP voter then I would like to point out that the UKIP manifesto showed that you would in fact borrow 30bn and cut 31bn and that was dependant on and EU referendum which would inevitably cause a financial crash which we would be unprepared for under UKIP. Hypothetically even if you managed to cut 1bn from the budget in 5 years without the crash that would still leave the housing, bond and stock bubble but with a further 450+ billion of debt waiting to explode and 85bn deficit. Also no banking reforms and no meaningful change in housing policy reforms such as repealing right to buy and taking away VAT on redevelopment of existing brown field property even though they want to protect green belt. Also did you know Caroline Lucas voted for an EU referendum and that greens are against open border immigration strongly?

      @Lommyism Před 9 lety +1

      Debt is the result of how money is created. Shockingly most money is created by private banks in a totally un-democratic way out of thin air. Money = Debt. A long term goal is to nationalise the banks and end the fraudulent system, so that tax payers no longer have to service the interest on the debt through tax. Monetary reform garners cross-party support. When debt is an insolvency problem rather than liquidity then you have a problem because the debt cannot be repaid. Two thirds of economists agree that austerity has damaged our economy. The Green Party are on the side of the majority of experts on the economy. There has been a huge increase in the amount of money in the system in recent decades, this correlates to a huge increase in debt. Our own finance spokesperson Molly Scott Cato talks about this in her book: books.google.co.uk/books?id=Z7OD6hjUNNUC&printsec=frontcover&dq=Green+Economics:+An+Introduction+to+Theory,+Policy+and+Practice&hl=en&sa=X&ei=3GslVc3qEoqrsAH2voK4Cg&ved=0CCEQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=Green%20Economics%3A%20An%20Introduction%20to%20Theory%2C%20Policy%20and%20Practice&f=false

    That and the fact that this Labour party is genuinely a step in the right direction (away from New Labour) is why I'll vote Labour. I implore anyone in a marginal seat to vote the Tories out.
    If you're in a safe seat then please do vote green, a high enough percentage might help the spectrum lurch left, like the rise in UKIP has made it lurch right.

Shitting on the rest of the world with their energy problems out the window, and when Fusion finally surpassed fission in every way Fusion will be the best way to go. Nothing against solar or wind etc but it's silly to say they're so much better than nuclear when the only downside of nuclear is the waste which is currently disposed of practically 100% safely and only gets better (and if more plants were built more research on it would occur too).
    As long as you don't build Fission plants on earthquake/tsunami zones *looks at Japan* and you aren't slack with the safety precautions/training/inspections *Chernobyl* it's simply the best.

      Because of a silly ad? Have you not seen the ads from the Tories, Labour and UKIP? They're just as stupid. This sort of shit is populist propaganda and like it or not, it's needed for a political movement. The greens are trying to capitalize on young voter bases and those on the far-left. It's just like Tory/Labour propaganda against each other (on purely non-substantive issues, of course) and UKIP propaganda outside of the EU.
      Not saying the Greens are perfect, I don't think we'll find any legitimate solutions within our parliamentary system. I'm likely going to vote for the Green Party for their views on proportional representation. If there was a campaign for democracy in the UK, then I'd likely vote for them. Ultimately supporting any party is a belief system...and we are the people who make anything function...anything is possible we put our minds to. the only things stopping us is ourselves.

    • @JacobEvans2
      @JacobEvans2 Před 9 lety +3

      Matthew John Your reply seems contradictory to the whole message given out in the video. the video stressed the importance of a wasted vote being the vote you do not believe in. If I do not believe in what the Green Party are calling for (we can only judge their aims based on policy), surely me voting for the Green Party would be a wasted vote for me?
      While I accept politics is about the bigger picture do we really know what the Green Party wants? I would say no! The things I grasp from the Green Party is that they're all busy caught up in the ideas of equality, fairness, humanitarianism, and environmentalism that anyone who has a belief different from Lib-Lab-Con-UKIP automatically assumes it's Green. In the end you do not have a political party as such but a hotchpotch of different opinions and aim, some completely contradictory, falsely believing they have something in common. The Green Party is effectively a franchise for lots of independent candidates who believe they will do better if they call themselves Green. I do not want to vote for someone who has a completely different outlook on life than I do.
      Alternatively, if I do not know what the Green Party stands for in detail, I cannot support what I don't know. therefore, as there is no support, the vote for Greens would be wasted. The Greens have not thought that line through.

      Samuel Coe Well, there policies were not particularly christian. They wouldnt scrap gay marriage, and if they had anything to say about abortion then I missed it. There policies on the enviroment were, if anything, detrimental to stopping climate change, and significantly cut the foreign aid budget. Nigel Farage also claimed that not allowing foreign hiv patients access to the NHS was the 'christian thing' to do. This is the religion whose founder went around preaching love thy neighbour, telling parables like the good samaritan, and healing the sick who were social outcasts because of their disease, so I think thats a slightly odd thing to claim.
      If they wanted an upheaval of society along christian lines, they, and there policies, did not advertise it, and it was their own odd conception of it.

    According to polling, around 15% of the 2010 Lib Dem Vote are now voting Greens, probably in disgust with what the Lib Dems did. This 15% is largely made up of 18-34 year olds. As a 25 year old, my issue with this is that, whilst the Greens will never end up in Coalition with the Conservatives, for a second election in a row, my peers see themselves as too left for Labour, yet their votes (due to splitting the left vote and allowing rightist candidates to come through the middle) could again see Cameron as PM. At some point, you have to look at what the Labour party are offering (abolish non-dom status, abolish zero hours, clampdown on tax loopholes and fines for tax avoidance, lower tuition fees) and go, this is a party who if I vote for them, will definitely take the country left. And under first past the post, a vote for the Greens does not necessarily do that, just as a vote for the Lib Dems in 2010 led to this horrid Coalition.

      I was slightly disappointed when I realised what it was because I thought they were above it... but it was surprisingly entertaining and still different to what I've seen from the other main parties having a go at each other so I'm okay with it. It pointed out some major differences which could make a lot of people who don't have the time or patience to trudge through the policies, vote for them.
