- Exploration of secret abandoned hidden tunnels beneath the Needles Battery Derelict places Isle of Wight not far from the Needles lighthouse- (Urban Exploration)
Tunnels beneath the battery above on the cliffs, previously accessible from the lift shaft.
Now the only way to access to to climb over the cliffs at low tide.
Despite looking calm the trip to this area can be very dangerous if you are planning to visit I would recommend going on a spring tide and starting your approach at least an hour before low tide.
Once there I would say you have approximately half an hour to have a poke around.
Date of visit 5th of June 2016

U r really amazing.. And the sound of nature is damn good and relaxing.. 😊😊
I lived on the I. O. W when I was growing up. Seeing some of your videos brings back so much nostalgia. Very happy times.
Thank you.
Mate I wanna climb that lift this year any idea if it’s worth it I’ve heard it leads to another bunker
You can tell that professional miners dug the tunnels; by the consistency of the arch at the top and how narrow the passages were between rooms. They were wasting no time making the passages wider; they knew the rock wouldn't hold the tunnels' shape if they did. Looks like there've been a couple falls over the decades in wider spots, so they were right.
This place i remember well as a kid.Apparently it was the test site for Britain's Blue Streak missile back in the 50's and 60's which was abandoned because of cost and the fact that we ended up buying polaris off the yanks.I notice you never found the concrete road tunnel that leads in from the top part of the cliff apparently there are over seven and a half miles of tunnels leading off from that lot. I've never seen that group of tunnels so it was a bit of an eye opener for me.Nice one😊👍
"Have you got a spare battery for our torch mate?"
"No, I thought you had it."
Wow cool video the way you film it makes us feel like we're right there!
Looking creepy as hell but very interesting at the same time.
That’s absolutely stunning
English Heritage should be saving these.
Thanks for sharing and taking time to document.
🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thats incredibly amazing. Great work!
Creepily claustro - brilliant filming... really felt like you were there and gave a sense of where you were and how the thing was laid out. Nice editing and camerawork.
Thank you I really appreciate the kind words and thank you for watching! 😁👍
Wow wow wow how beautiful thank you for sharing this with us 🙏❤️
Great video. I went to the battery yesterday and was disappointed not to be able to see more. They told me to watch your video. Thanks.
Thanks for watching! That's so cool that they are recommending my video 😅 Its a real shame that the lift shaft doesn't work as the sea level tunnels are really awesome to explore.
That's so cool the facility is recommending your video! 😄
using your channel i can explore all the places i’m too scared to from the comfort of my own home!
Yeah this place is super sketchy, don't let the calm weather fool you, I went back a couple of months ago and it was super dodgy ended up pretty much swimming back! Thanks very much for watching! 😁👍
Hi scarlet
Excellent video, thanks for the tour, i was aware of this place but never been in it.
I love the music, it fits perfectly
this was enoyable, thanks :)
Awesome Location you found there, bunkers and wartime tunnels are always great to explore!
We're quite lucky here on the Isle of Wight for bunkers and wartime stuff as there's quite a few sites dotted over the island and fortunately most have not been vandalised and damaged.
Thanks for watching :D
Thats great, thanks to the mountains we have a lot of those things in Tyrol as well :D
Great little explore, thanks 👍
fascinating. great work!
Fascinating...and eerie too.
Fantastic !!!
So very cool!
Superb...! I love watching our history. Tonnes of places like this on our island. :-) keep up the good work...!!
Thank you for watching Peter!
We really are lucky here on the island, so many hidden treasures.
Great vid. I went there by kayak last year, amazing place.
Spooky but interesting. Wouldn't get me down there. Worried never find your way back
Really brave man bro... initially I think that it is robotic camera scenes...but it's you.. really brave man bro
Wow what a cool place. Once again stunningly produced video
Thanks William 😁
Is this anything to do with the old radio satellite at the bottom of the needles?
Hi Larry it was connected to the Needles old battery which is now open to the public and owned by the National Trust, the sea level tunnels were designed to counter torpedo boats and they were dug out of the cliff face in 1887(ish)
In the 1950s, the battery was used for Black Knight rocket testing but I think that the sea level tunnels were already cut off by then, as far as I know they were last actively used in WWII as a searchlight position.
Thanks for watching!
I love the Isle Of Wight
Never in a million years did I think there were places that are abandoned
Ye sub jagah #merach hai 😍Halll
Top marks to you a very interesting video,

I love your content my friend told me all about the things you do, This makes me think how much i havent explored yet.
Thank you! There's loads about and still plenty that I haven't been too yet 😁
Amazing 😉 I always wondered what was inside, never expected there to be so much. What are those “drains/water tanks”, pump and upward shaft all about? Great filming. Love the creepy music 😳 😁 Thanks so much for sharing. 👍
Upwood shaft probably four lowering ammunition for the guns
@@tonyball3927 These were searchlight positions for the guns above . The upwards shaft was a lift shaft for the men above to man and maintain the searchlights . The water tanks , pipes and pumps were to supply the fort with fresh water from the well drilled there .
Great movie boy! Best regards from Brazil!
Simply aMAZEing !
really cool video brow,i loved it the music o/

Thanks, it can get pretty dangerous tracking beneath the cliffs especially if you get caught by the tide, if you do attempt please be careful 👍
Good advice!! Thanks :) I will be careful
Wao amazing
I've lived on the isle of Wight for my entire life
Sames 🤯
Never been looks lovely
I used to live on the I. O. W in the early 90's & its true what they say, "once you've lived there, a part of you always wants to go back"
Just returned from taking my kids to show them the island... Thay loved it.
Shout out to the caulk heads💓
nice video thanks
This is so amazing I had to watch it twice at the level of work and time to do that and the thing that makes it even more amazing is the terrain and how hard it would have been to achieve all that from the location and position to access and dig. The other amazing thing is the shier genious of the positioning and how indestructible this fortress would have been. All the enemy would have seen is bullets and canons flying from the side of a mountain. All they would be is a target and they would only be able to return fire on a rock face. You can't even flank them because the entrance is half way up the mountain and you would be just plucked off or had burning oil thrown at you. Wicked and indestructible.
Alex Treasure Hunter I was thinking the same way about it being very good for defence. Truly amazing
Buen video
You guys should have way more subscribers.
awesome mate ! loved it ...liked and subbed

How did those tunnels get there? It is such an enduring mystery. What happened there during the war? Another enduring mystery that will never be known.

Didn't think anything was in the cliff however many times I've stud against
Wow! Very creepy. I wonder what it is for. To me it is a dangerous place.
Wow
This is how I'd like to spend my time doing amazing things like this. . But I'd be absolutely terrified! I just know my luck though and the day I venture down there to explore like this is the day the tunnel decides to collapse!! 🤣
Be careful guys it's too scary.
Congratulations for the video bro!!!
I would not enter this place for all the money of the world, at least alone (maybe with 30 other persons, all the necessary equipment and still I would think it twice)
I just didn't understand who built this place and when?
