    Has this coach been in an acident. It has the headlights and bumper of a D4505 and the rest is a D4500. Rear end and windshields are the give away. All from a D4500. I like the color

      Nope it's a conversion or Factory custom

      @@marvinjgerald6007 actually the D4505 had a completely different rear end. We have a bunch of pre 2004s in Fort McMurray. The rear was changed when the new emission standards were brought into effect. They went back to the D4500 rear end but the marker lights on the top are different from what are shown hear, at least on our newer D4505s. What is shown hear is the standard marker lights that are on our D4500s the only things on this coach that scream D4505 to me are the fiberglass and the badge saying 4505 which is easy enough to put on. The reason I'm saying its looks like it's bedn repaired after an accident is that from the bootmof the windshields up it screams D4500 like the rest of the coach. If the top front hab been replaced it would make no sense to maje it look like q D4500 whic really dates back to the Mid 1980s. Quite often companies will try and make their coaches look more modern by putting new parts on older coaches after an accident. We do this all the time if tge front lower cap needs replacing especially if the coach had the okd strle 4 squar headlight arrangement.

      The Covid Infested Arsenal Misfit anybody and company can update and or retrofit the MCI D series of coaches. You have to examine the whole vehicle for tell tell signs beyond any apparent fender bender patch up and even then anybody can be fooled because every single exterior esthetics of the D series can be reconfigured into another sub model of the same series. Of course I believe you already know these things. So having said what I already have I’ll say again and more: from the factory all standard D series buses had the same rear end cap esthetics as well as the front end caps except technical amenities like light housings, designation signs, bumpers and framed or frameless passenger windows. That’s why it’s called the “D” series but sub divided into basically “commuter” and “touring” specs, namely as the D4500 and D4505 respectively. I study the official MCI OEM specification manuals everyday researching and answering questions for others. So it’s not even proper to assume that the D4505 had a completely different ( because they never were or ever will be “completely” different, maybe a little different but certainly not “completely”) rear end. Why, because MCI would never wast money cast molding two completely different pieces for more than essentially the same platform bus. NJ Transit and Greyhound has always had the same model year coaches with different bumpers and other amenities but never ever with a “completely different” front and or rear end. Heck even the MC12 was essentially an updated MC9. If you feel you know some things please fell free to share with me. Oh and just be aware that for 2021 MCI is finally doing away with the 1993 to present 102DL3/G4500/D4500/D4505 series styles.

      The Covid Infested Arsenal Misfit also the D series began in 1998 of which anything prior was classified as the 102D(L). What began in the mid 1980’s was the 95’A body styles, (which was away from the prior Crusader platform style of which the MC9 and or MC12 were the last to rock) with B and C following. I received color brochures from MCI back in the day when those first came out. You’re absolutely correct in how it can be misleading when everybody including myself wants to keep upgrading their bus with the latest styles. Too bad MCI is finally moving on from the current D series style.

      @@marvinjgerald6007 Ya I know when the D series came Ive been driving coaches since 1981. What I was trying to say is the styling of the Ds and 4500 front end was a hold over from the 102s.and 96s
      I drove a brand new 102 C3 with a Detroit v6 turbo which I picked up at the factoy and drove it up and down the west coast from Alaska and the Yukon down to California and Vegas. First coach I was ever asigned was a 1963 MC4 with armstrong steering, and no washroom. Ive driven MC 4,5, 7,8,9, the 96 and 102s ,D series, 4500, 4505, the J Series, the Renaissance E series which was my favorite ccoach ever, I've also driven Prevost the H3-40, H3-41 ,H3-45 ,H5-60 which was my least favorite coach. And the XL series Ive also driven Vanhool and Setra as well.
      For ne the biggest puzzle of this coach is the Windshields and upper window. They are 4500 issue the 4505 as far as Ive seen never hzd a top window except for a destination sign which was part into the top front end cap. That why I find it hard to believe its a 4500.

    Wish mine looked this great on the outside. My interior is 100% nicer tho lol. Plus the air leak on this one sounds awful omg

      @marvinjgerald6007 Před 3 lety

      It’s not an air leak, for some reason their phone/camera microphone is being obscured by a hand or just sucks. They’ve got a few videos with the same sounding whooshing-hiss sound that’s paramount all around the coaches.
