    Basically you’re putting money into a bank you trust but that bank is acting as a snitch lol.

  • @KidarWolf
    @KidarWolf Před 15 dny +10

    Even with the news that the DWP won't be snooping on what people are spending on, the fact that the Tory party expressed a desire to do so is enough to change how I will be doing things going forward. I will be moving toward drawing all but the money needed to pay my bills out of my account every month, and keeping it in cash, because the less opportunity the government has to snoop on private lives, the better.

    I’ve had it with the DWP it’s not going to be long before I tell them to F off…. Constantly jumping through hoops for them is wearing me out,and having to provide Bank Statements just takes the Mickey … I’m not a crook, I’ve got hidden disabilities and I get up everyday at eight in the morning to take care of myself and get my medication and breakfast… I can’t even work out what PIP is for these days, I mean I’m doing my best for my independence, but after having my PIP stopped, I have turned into a bit of a slob, and I can’t afford to go to the places I used to go to… I know I couldn’t work for eight hours a day because I have routines etc. now I’m a hole and I’m having a job to get out of it… why does the government keep sticking the knife into disabled / vulnerable people ?? They really all have sold their souls to the devil

  • @Garuthius
    @Garuthius Před 15 dny +11

    I shall respectfully disagree... in a news statement... Rishi himself, on camera, stated that they want to be able to crack down on claimants spending PIP money on the wrong things... e.g. utility bills, food and rent. The ONLY way to check that you are not spending your money on those things is to monitor what you ARE spending the money on. Even if they state that this is not the purpose, it IS what it will be used for.
    The second point of clarity.... whilst they do have to tell you that your claim is under investigation ... they only do so AFTER they have completed covert surveillance to prove there is something to investigate... Due to the covert nature of the surveillance.... they are not legally required to inform you that you are being monitored in this way.
    I've said it before, and i will say it again ... the devil is always in the detail. They use language as a barrier to understanding.. the key understanding between "under investigation" and "covert surveillance".. some may think they mean the same thing ... let me assure you of this; In the eyes of the DWP and Gov. There is a world of difference.

      I second your secondary paragraph and i chose the words in the wrong proportion so i appologise but effectively that's what i meant to say :-) Ive had alot going on at the moment as you appreciate so im dealing with multiple things.

      @dianecorbin8886 Před 15 dny +4

      If that were true why did they stop paying directly to the landlords etc? Load of rubbish.

    • @Garuthius
      @Garuthius Před 15 dny +3

      @dianecorbin8886 UC / ESA / Income support, etc. More specifically, Housing Benefit, are the benefits that were paid direct to landlord (and this is still available if you can prove it is necessary and is applied for by the landlord, not the person on the benefit). These are the benefits that are awarded to pay bills and buy food and clothing.
      According to Rishi, PIP should not be used for these purposes or to top-up these things. In his own words, PIP is a benefit for the purpose of supporting the additional costs of living with a disability... of course, he forgets that 1 component of PIP is titled "Daily Living. ".... oh, the irony.... can't spend it on daily living according to Rishi.
      Again, it is a mass misconception of what the intended purpose of PIP is designed to provide for. Of course, calling it daily living hasn't really helped in that department. Even the people who claim PIP just lump it in with their other income from means tested benefits and consider them all as a "whole" to be used for day to day life, paying rent, bills, food and transport.

Had I had a definite wage I would of worked less for that year, not self employed just zero hours. £211 is one weeks work. Make it make sense.

    They could be checking bank accounts to see how often people with disabilities have been out & where. The DWP & government logic would be that if you've told them you don't go out or rarely go out will be reflected in the bank statements. So if they are told by a claimant they don't go out much but there are lots of transactions on your card to show you have been out more often they will investigate further. E.g. "I don't go out to the local shops because I can't walk that far." But the bank statement shows you went to the local shops several times then they could investigate further. They won't take into consideration that a trusted person with your bank card will go to the local shop for you. Like I said before it's the DWP & governments logic not common sense.

    Rich do you think the House of Lord will agree to support the Governments bank snooping policies. Especially on benefits that aren’t means tested namely the old age pension and can have saving of any amount. Also those getting pips can be in or out of work and and have savings of any amount. I don’t think the Lords would like their bank account being snooped on when they reach pensionable age. What would happen if the Banks refused to cooperate with the Government’s snooping policy? I think the banks have a duty to protect the interests of their customers. I can’t see how they can realistically works for both their customers and the DWP at the same time. Surely it would be seen as having a conflict of interest. Do you think the public will tolerate this? Surely people will just close their bank out and find a bank that the DWP doesn’t have a snooping agreement with. In the end the banks will suffer because people will refuse to use them because they can’t trust them to protect their privet banking information. I don’t see how the Government can dictate to the banks what they can and can’t do. Customers haven’t signed any agreement giving permission to report details of their financial situation to the DWP. I’m sorry you and Cara are going through a rough time with having to sort out some privet matters. I wish you and Cara lots of good luck and happiness in your new home.

      Google Annette Bond.
      DWP got warrant to secretly film her for 3 months!
      But they stopped after 2 WEEKS as they had enough evidence!!!!
      She managed to claim £70,000 in 10 years time.
      Didnt admit she was wrong.
      She just said, they filmed her on her good days.
      Well, the judge didnt like it.
      And gave her 2 years prison sentence.

    I gather that, if you inherit some money that you have to contact them to "justify," or "ask permission," for any sizable expenditure?
    Is that the case, does anyone have experience with this? Cheers!

    • @KidarWolf
      @KidarWolf Před 15 dny

      I received an inheritance payment some time ago from my ex-mother-in-law's estate, and never heard a thing from DWP about it. I may have been under some threshold or another, perhaps.

    • @neorich59
      @neorich59 Před 15 dny

      @@KidarWolf I believe that it's up to recipients to declare inheritances. The threshold is, I believe £6000. Anything above that, but below £16,000 (in total capital) will result in them reducing benefits by £4.35 for each £250 above £6000. If the amount of (declared) capital is above £16,000 then the U.C. account is closed. I'm not sure that this is "gospel!" 😉😉

      Hi, thanks for this. I gave it a listen back when I could this afternoon and it's absolutely shocking. It does appear like Mark wants to create more tension and at the end of the day the manager was in the wrong. If she's offended by something you've said, then that's tough. You're entitled to freedom of speech. If you don't trust women, that's entirely your decision in life. It's nothing to do with her. She shouldn't be bringing her personal thoughts or opinions into a professional workplace.
      The DWP seem to be really struggling at the moment to understand and work with people. I've got my own battles so I wish you the best of luck. But thank you for sharing this with everybody!
