The Osprey Raptor 14 comes with a 2.5 liter water bladder called the Osprey Hydraulics LT Reservoir.
I am going to be using Bottle Bright cleaning tabs and InnerFit cleaning kit to wash and remove all the mold and gunk from my bag's water bladder.

This video shows you how to clean your hydration bladder for all hydration packs. It is important to clean and maintain your outdoor gear.
I came here disappointed seeing I had to actually work to clean this 🤦🏾♂️🤣. But you made it enjoyable without making me feel like a dirt bag. Thank you!
i dried mine out by using the clothing hanger clips and hanging it up side down, and sticking that grey sealer it comes with into the inside to open it up a bit, works if you are dont have that hanging gadget!!
Genius level!!
Clear and useful. Reporting an alternative sanitizer would be useful.
Very helpful! I'm new to water bladders in general and was wondering how to dry these things.
I’m glad to be of help!
I have an Osprey hydraulics lt with the slider like yours. How can I safely remover the bite mouthpiece to cut the tubing to size? (And to clean) It looks like it just kinda screws into tube but I can't get it off, feel like I'm going to break it,, HELP!!! 😊 Thank you in advance :)))
Washing Soda also works great, thats what I use.
That is mostly what these tablets are composed of.
I will make this simple. Dry it out completely and rinse it with water prior to next use. It's that simple and it doesn't need to be this complicated. The brush for the hose is a good idea because you can't always get the water out of there. Thanks for the video though.
Your method works perfectly if all you put in the bladder is water. Some riders put energy drinks, etc in theirs. Thanks!
I put BCAA’s in mine, so this was super helpful, thanks!
No problem!
I need to do this more often for sure!
That is what is nice about the Bottle Bright tablets.
They allow you to get a quick clean without having to wash everything with soap.
I wish drying hanger was included in my hip bag bladder
They are a small convenience.
Honestly a super useful video madman!!!
Glad to hear! Thanks
I use 2 or 3 denture tablets, 126 for $6 😊
Thx! I used your link.
No problem!
Love the videos
Awesome video but I can’t get that darn spout attachment at the bottom of the bladder! 😅
I feel your pain! 😂
Please add a link to the cleaning tabs
I moved the link, in the description, up to the top. Thanks!
why do you sanitise first with bottle bright tablets? Would have thought you would do it after you clean it with dishwashing liquid....
It had been sitting for awhile so I just wanted to sanitize it but off camera I actually sanitized it again afterwards 🤣
Where did you get that snake ?!?!
It was in the cleaning kit that I bought from Amazon. Check the link in the description.
Where did you get the long cleaning brush from for the tube?
It came with the cleaning kit I bought. There is a link in the description of the video.
I want to know, how to open the Hydration Bladder, and you skip it. Why would you do that?
sorry it was easy, but still i think should show.
My bad. It definitely is tricky to break the seal the first time using a new bladder.
Wish you’d shown a way to dry the bladder without the special tools. Doing a hiking trip with only carry-on luggage with a strict weight limit. Even if I wanted to pay for the cleaning kit, there’s no way I could carry it, let alone use it in a tiny B&B sink. Because it’s on the recommended kit list for my 17-day walk, I bought the bladder, never having used or felt the need for one, but am rethinking taking it at all. It just seems like too much hassle, and too disgusting.
If you are only putting water in the bladder it won’t need to be cleaned during your trip.
I usually clean mine before and after the season or If I haven’t used it for many weeks. But I only put filtered water in mine.
@@MichianaMadman Thanks for the encouraging word.
I bought all the fancy tools. But I do a fresh water slosh and brush it out at home. Hang the bag upside down over the shower bar, with the tube on the other side. Ask pulled apart. Just enough to keep it hanging. Stuff with a rag inside to open the mouth for air and drainage. That's what I do at least. The most useful tool is the tiny tube brush. But I pull all the pieces apart. Except the bite piece. I didn't know I could
These bladders are garbage because the hose doesn't come off.
Yours got so nasty due to the fact that Osprey's are poorly designed.
Get a Camelbak and just wash with soap and hang-dry. Less than 5min.
It does make it hard to clean.
@@MichianaMadman Camelbak must have a patent. Either that, or the backpack companies want to sell cleaning kits.
