If you drive less then go for petrol. There is no value for money if you drive less in diesel car. DPF issues are not major issue it will auto run if in case you get DPF if you drive less within city. This auto run takes 30 min to fix DPF issue.
Venue and Sonet Diesel only difference back seat space less in sonet. Choice is yours which looks you like go for it Buy a Diesel engine lot of reasons to choose over petrol can't type long details.

If you need 7 seater, then go ahead
Sub 4 segment mid variant and carens Prestige are not same. Check on road price. But you can save a lot on RTO if you register in Pondy instead of TN.
What about mileage....deasel 1.5
For this we can go with MG Astor base variant if you can compromise on milage
MG got Some issue Pickup in lower gears and mileage is very bad in mg Astor. both the cars having different purpose. cant compare.
