ig they were pretty young and just debuted, also ig it was their first time going to some western shows and interviews. so I thought as their chemistry as a group was not pretty well developed and also the main fact that the interviewer was purposely giving him the mic so the others thought that talking in between when he was supposed to talk would be rude. so that's why ig everyone choose to be silenced. They only wanted to give the attention to their maknae, so ig it was a small miscommunication because they all were equally nervous.

He gets nervous and choked up while speaking English now since he has to speak Korean all the time with everyone, so speaking English again becomes so awkward and the words just don’t leave your mouth I relate so hard to this n it’s so embarrassing because English is your language and but for some reason you get so nervous speaking it and get choked up in front of someone who also speaks it after speaking another language with everyone around you for so long. Like it becomes rusty for a bit lol and your own accent becomes weird too! It starts merging into the people around you’s accent and your brain just goes into full on confusing while you try to let out a sentence in english again

at a young age he was speaking mandarin around the house, english only when at school or in public, and at age 11 i believe he moved to south korea and continued speaking only mandarin and korean from then on, this is from things i read when they debuted i do not remember it clearly lol
Master Mama I heard he only learned English to speak with his other family members when he went to visit. But he moved to China after 1 month in America so his English isn’t perfect. Then he learned Korean when he moved to Korea
Yeeh he probably doesn’t feel confident speaking in English. I mean he spend most of his childhood in China and South Korea. He only speaks English for his dad side part of the family.
