    Two more things for the Springfield: The ability to maintain irons when adding a red dot and the standard 1913 (non-proprietary) rail may give it the edge, in my opinion.

    • @Osprey1994
      @Osprey1994 Před 2 lety +5

      P365 can be swapped into a smaller frame,alloy frame, Wilson Combat Polymer frame. As for maintaining your back up irons I feel like it is unlikely that you get a red dot and don't confirm function before leaving the house, additionally you should be able to make hits without irons inside of 25 yards if you train properly...there is a method of shooting that will let you punch a fist size hole consistently without any sights, you GBRS covers it.

      @rileyneufeld7001 Před 2 lety +8

      @@Osprey1994 Most people don't even touch the back straps on their pistols let alone a whole frame. On a carry/duty gun having backup irons is a deal breaker for me. God forbid I get in a gunfight and red dot goes out and have to rely on a crude aiming system. Thankfully many red dots come with a notch milled into the rear so that alleviates that issue somewhat.

    Chris: VERY well done video!! A comprehensive comparison, and I especially liked the format of apples to apples. Went into a gun shop last week and looked at both guns, and you're spot on about the trigger of the 365XL... it is sweet! Since I don't need the extra 3 rounds, the 365XL is the one for me, YMMV. I traded my 365 with a Wilson Combat grip frame for a Hellcat Pro today. I tried to take my slide off my P365 to re lubricate and the slide wouldn’t come forward. I read a few forums and came to find out I had put my guide rod in backwards. The fact Sig makes a gun you can reassemble wrong is a problem in itself. The gunsmith I took it to had to remove the backplate and take out the striker assembly to get the slide off. That was the final straw with the P365 for me. Also the mags tend to rust from sweat when daily carrying especially here in FL. Add in all the reliability issues going around and I I just can’t trust the 365 with my life anymore. It’s a shame cause I still love my P320 and have never had any issues with it after 3K+ rounds no malfunctions whatsoever

    Thank you Chris; it seems like it’s been a while since you’ve done a comparison. Busy man. I’ve chosen the 365xl with Romeo optic, having first bought a regular 365 when they came out. I’m also a Sig guy, since I have a 220, 226, and 229 Legions. I carry the 365xl in summer and the 229 in winter. Otherwise I’m a 1911 user, Springfield TRPs and Nighthawks. I like quality and see no reason to skimp when it comes to guns. The 365 is the only striker fired gun I own; I much prefer a metal hammer fired gun. I don’t much like the split trigger, I prefer the thumb safety. Best Regards sir. I appreciate your efforts.

    I own both the HC Pro and HC compact. The Pro’s grip marginally thicker than compact (w/extended mag) - feels very comfortable w/beavertail and grip angle. Pro 3rd gen trigger less creep than compact - little spongy. Sig feels like it was made for me. Improved Sig Trigger has creep but solid break. Sig weighs same as HC Pro. I chose the Pro for the extra capacity. I added PRP trigger kit that transformed the trigger w/less pull effort, less creep, nice break. Recommend a trigger kit for most guns. Would have added kit to 36 XL. I own Sig piston rifles & suppressor - love them. Got Sig 365 (380) for mom’s small hands. She’s picky- loves it and so do I. 👍 Good review. Sub’d

    The P365XL wins for me because of the MAGGUTS +2 kit, which makes the 12 round mags into 14 round mags WITHOUT even adding 1/8 of an inch in length to the grip. The contour of the grip on the Hellcat extends out away from the body more than the XL does, and being a smaller guy that is a significant issue for me. I already had the XL when the Hellcat came out. The Hellcat got my attention, but within a couple minutes I realized there was no reason to change.

    I own and have run both extensively. Both have Holosun 507 K2s. I run both with 15 rd mags exclusively. I ran the 365 in several USPSA matches and the EDC Championship. I did add a Wilson Combat module(recommended). It IS a magnificent gun for it's size and it unbelievably shootable and accurate(landed 2 rds of 5 on a mini USPSA steel at 75 yds at Sig). Stock trigger is long but excellent. On the other hand, the Hellcat(I own both sizes) is a very comfortable and has excellent natural pointing as far as almost automatically aligning the sights when you bring it up. It is also very accurate, reliable and shootable. Stock trigger? Suuuuuxx! It is waaay too heavy but crisp and it is, as far as I can see, the only drawback on the gun. It also seems to fit my glock 19 holsters. Go figure. I am going to install an MCARBO kit in it and we'll see. Just my 2 cents.

SIG stumbled with the P365 release, but did resolve the issues, which is why a bought one after a year's worth of production and it's been flawless. I have handled the Hellcat, but not fired it, and it seems like a quality firearm also. I am not a Springfield fan, and happy with the P365, but if given a Hellcat I would keep it. Aftermarket options for 14+1 on the 365.
    Frame size can be mod on 365.
    3ray 3 does have tritium insert as well.
    Pro is slightly larger and more blocky.
    Does win in capacity, iron sight retention, rear sight contrast, 1913 rail, overall cost, and mag cost.
    But the 365 modularity beats the hellcat.
    They are both excellent. I have held both and my hands like the 365 platform better.

It's got a GREAT trigger & EZ for her to control. Waiting for the Hellcat trigger upgrade kit. 2.5 & 3.5 adjustable. Now it's what it SHOULD have been to begin with. Had a Taurus PT 111??, Terrible trigger. My gunsmith took it apart, dropped the metal parts into a vibratory tumbler with ceramic B.B.s while we had coffee ( about 20 mins) & reassembled it. All those parts had been ball peened polished, edges rounded, glass smooth. Entirely different unit afterwards. 1000% improvement. Such a small step in the factory's would make such radically better product right from the get go. Wouldn't NEED upgrading. One would think the " geniuses " who design these things would figure out rounded/ smooth beats square/ rough anyday. Probably too much COMMON SENCE..
