- Spider-Verse's Peni Parker was inspired by the Evangelion series, so why not make replace Shinji with Peni? We put Peni Parker in multiple different scenes from Evangelion projects, such as the original anime series, End of Evangelion, and the Rebuilds, hope you enjoy!

Are you doing anything else besides a possible sequel to Zootopia? "That was the best fan film I've ever seen, it was very moving, if I could draw... I would do so many things ^-^" but I can't drawing.
All of a sudden, Peni saying she lost her father in "Into the Spider-Verse" doesn't seem all that bad, considering who her father is here.
Is not his father, in the comics she became SP//DR after the death of her dad. And she was take care by his Uncle Ben and May.
like the other guy had said , in the comics , her father was the original SP//DR Pilot.
The Ikari Gendo stand-in to her universe , weird enough , is her Uncle Ben. While Peter's Uncle Ben goes "great responsability" , Peni's Dad is the one that said that and her Uncle Ben is the one saying "go to the f* robot , Peni"

This implies that Peni had to go through her own end of eva and that is such a depressing thought to imagine
That would explain her attitude change in the sequel.
@@geoxaga6507her actual canon event seems very EVA like. A mech went crazy and basically ate/absorbed her best friend, who was piloting it, and then absorbed her Aunt May as well
At least she didn’t have to spend an the rest of her life with her version of asuka in a dead world.

I know the inspiration for Peni was from Evangelion but now knowing this i'll choose to believe that Peni is just a full on gender swapped Shinji

Considering there are infinite universe in Spider-verse. There's a world where Peni basically replace Shinji in Evangelion.

Does that mean Peni is going to web fluid on Miles unconscious body on the hospital bed.
Doubt it she needs a web shooter for that and considering Peni's equipment is designed for the female body I doubt they can pull off the scene where Shinji was at his lowest point.

Really loved it, I feel good knowing that there are people who actually watched and remembered the greatness of Evangelion and are recreating it into newer forms heck the fact that Peni Parker is from an Eva inspired Spiderverse was probably one of the best ways western comics have given good homage to anime in general either way this animation was great and waitinf for 4th episode of Interstellar Rangers
I used to like Evangelion but after what it's done to the super robot genre it's now all about depression and deconstruction

I knew Penny was going to have very silky motion... But i got flabbergasted when every other character in Eva had love and care given to them through more frames and looked living and breathing thanks to it 😮
Id say this is tracing done right! No one expects an upgrade (which this honestly is) but they expect atleast respect being shown to the og material when tracing.

I like that at 1:00 Peni doesn't stand out at all. The original picture has a slight haze or blur (probably because the anime was shot on film)
As someone who loves concept art for things, to clarify the Wasnt Shinji Almost X back and forth going on in the comments:
It's easier to say Shinji went thru alot of iterations when they were designing the MC, Anno merely mentioned at some point the during brainstorming there was "hey why not a girl". Ironically, the Sadamoto doodle jokingly explaining he draws Shinji's face like Nadia's face is just indicative 1) Shinji is meek so he has a softer "cuter" face with less edges 2) a hilarious irony as Nadia is a complete ballbuster in her own story.
People forget A LOT of ideas are thrown around at the concept stage before anyone starts to pick up a pencil. Same deal with Gainax when they did Nadia; before the finalized version, the concept art for her (which IIRC includes a pale Naussica-lookalike and a black girl with more "realistic" hair) is all over the place appearance-wise before they nailed down the look that actually appears in the story.
