In 2009, Chelsea were eliminated by Barcelona after a set of controversial decisions were made by the referee Tom Henning Ovrebo.
Barcelona has often been accused of getting favours from the referees, but what Chelsea fans felt on this day 11 years ago is beyond comparison and they still have the bad blood against alleged biased favours made bt referee Tom Henning Overbo.
Chelsea was stunned with it and couldn’t believe what they had faced. Meanwhile, Barcelona cruised to the finale of the Champions League against Manchester United and ultimately won the tournament.
But back in the Stamford Bridge, it sparked Didier Drogba into a furious rant in front of the TV cameras, calling it a ‘f**king disgrace.’ Michael Ballack was seen running behind Overbo making him realize his mistakes, but ultimately of no use.

We are in front of the biggest robbery an English team has ever suffered in a UCL's semi-finals, where the referee made lots of mistakes, which allowed Barcelona to get to the final. Look like, Uefalona, and the whole mafia behind this didn't want Chelsea, and Man Utd to face each other again. What I remember most was seeing the referee runs away from Ballack, after he didn't give an Eto's's clear penalty in the last minutes, if I had been Ballack, I'd have tackled on him, while trying to chase him.

I've been watching UCL season since 2002... I remember watching this game LIVE ON TV at home in California with my dad (RIP)... My dad's favorite player of all times was drogba!! He called it out even before the game started about the ref!! Since I used to work night shift at the time, I had to call in late to comfortebly whatch the game til the end!...😁 UCL play off games were special times with my dad in the mornings and afternoon!! specially if Real Madrid was playing!!😭

It's not that scandal that has always claimed to be: a penalty for Chelsea - foul by Dani Alves - but an unexisting red card against Barcelona and a clear penalty for a handball when Barca were already (and wrongly)10.
