- Happy (early) Father's Day from Sling Pilot Academy! This week, watch Roula fly her father around for an early Father's Day gift. This was his first flight with her and hours before, he watched Roula graduate from the University of California Fullerton. We are so proud of Roula and her progress so far, stay tuned to see what else she gets up to at Sling Pilot Academy.

I gotta assume these videos aren't released in order of happening as 4 weeks ago she just did her first solo cross country?
That's correct, Roula first solo'd in March 2023 and did her solo XC in April 2023. She then flew with her dad for Father's Day in late May. Thanks for asking!

Excellent video, you can see this lady and developed a lot of skills since the solo video. Seems like a very nice gift for the father, and he seems very proud.
Odd to see nobody reacted while the computer was saying ‘obstacle, obstacle.’ And interesting that even these airplanes are now using touch screens for some of their functions.
It’s also amazing how these things don’t encounter birds while up there.
It's always wonderful to see how much our student pilots grow and develop throughout the program.
You do have to keep an eye out for birds, especially near the airport during landing 🐦👀

Is used to live in the Seattle, WA area and there you can take a tour of the Boeing factory. They show you the world’s largest building by volume, and at the time they used it to manufacture four different types of jets. They also tell you there’s no climate control in the building; during the winter, the air is warm from people working 24/7, and in the summer they open the large bay doors for a breeze.
It’s really incredible to see all this stuff about flight.

@@SlingPilotAcademy It really is. When I took the tour they explain things like why the paint schemes are generally white now (to safe weight for fuel efficiency), and you get exposure to a lot of things you don’t really think about, concerning airplanes.
I took my whole family to it when they visited. They were not so enthusiastic to go, but afterwards they were really impressed. I think since you guys like airplanes it is something you should see.
Separately, there is an aeronautics museum is Tukwila, just outside of Seattle. This is the one that has planes like an SR-71 on display. It is not affiliated with the Boeing factory, but something else cool to see there.
As a piece of trivia, the former NBA team for Seattle was the Seattle Sonics, more formally known as the Seattle SuperSonics. That name was based on the Boeing SST (Super Sonic Transport) proposal they made to the government in the 1970s, but never materialized as a plane. At some point, unfortunately Boeing moved their corporate headquarters to Chicago, but they left a lasting impression on the Seattle area.

Why? It's important for the Pilot in Command to be comfortable. Clearly her flying isn't inhibited, so there isn't a problem.

But here the absurdity goes a step further, as, firstly, she is in an enclosed space, away from the ground, and in the company of only her father.
