Sword Art Online the Movie Progressive Scherzo of Deep Night is coming to theaters this February. Tickets available on Fandango.
Even though people meme on Sword Art Online a lot now and it's cool to hate on it and the amateur story, it still has a special place in my heart for introducing me to anime a decade ago.
It doesn’t have a amateur story. There are way more terrible anime out there

Idk about the story, but Kirito is a Gary Stu and boring.
Best choice they ever made by going back to SAO and showing us the progression of the other floors.
But they didn't show 2 3 4 and elf floor
please read the progressive books. The movies have literally nothing in common with the books. It actually pissed me off so much bc the books go so in depth and have much better stories.

Please go read the books, they're so much better, but people need to realize that SAO while being the literal title of the series was never meant to be the full focus point, its meant to be a story about sci fi-fantasy virtual worlds and living with your trauma, while aincrad was a stepping stone for the series, it was never meant to be the plan to base the entire series in aincrad.

@@godsongamer51 progressive means a reboot or remake of the first season. and progressive is another word for making it better basicaly and the movies are way better still.
So glad they gave argo her screen time, one of my favorite characters in the games

Eh the first season was decent, the second season had its moments but it was where things started to fall apart, the gungame arc was just dumb, and from there on it was just generic and a pure cash grab

This anime just cannot end because if it does everyone that died in the 1st part of SAO their death would be meaningless and have not taught us anything and a long lost anime that touched everyones humanity, and heart would be lost, and forgotten.
Finally someone who appreciates the sacrifice and the countless deaths the anime wrapped up in just a few episodes. Feels nice to find someone actually not hating on progressive movies just because the majority does. Thanks bud for giving me a break from all that toxicity

My favorite thing about the first movie was it focused on Asuna and gave her the time she deserved. If this just becomes the Kirito show again then I’m out haha

Essentially doing what virtually every other SAO wannabe "set in a VR game" anime since has done. SAO went down a different path though and examined just how VR and AI technology might be abused.

At least they're reworking the original hot garbage storyline into a better story progression version. I'd rather watch this than the time skips and fillers for half of the main arc. 14 episodes just isn't enough to explain the entire Aincrad story. Hopefully they will do this one similar to like Alicization where its 2 Seasons long with more in-depth details.
