That’s a testament to how tough those old 636’s are. You beat the fuck out of that bike and it just kept wanting more. If that chain didn’t jump timing it probably woulda kept going and going and going.

Missed the stream by a little bit, taking a beer break from my shop organization and see this when I clicked on youtube. Damn man, that is tough luck. My vote, if this thing doesn't end up rebuilt, is to reassemble it, clean it up, basically restore it cosmetically, and turn it into a glass top coffee table for the front retail area of the shop space you have there. It would be a great conversation starter and the stories you could tell related to it would be endless.
The first engine I loved dearly that blew up donated said piston and rod, or, what was left of them, to being artwork around the house. It never fails to start a conversation when someone notices it holding up a row of books on a shelf and asks what in the world happened to rapidly disassemble rotating parts to quickly... well, 32psi on a home made turbo kit with not nearly enough fuel on stock internals is what does that, and it is pure carnage. 20 years later I build turbo bikes, choppers, stunt oriented hooligan machines affectionately known as "street fighters" (main dig in motorcycling for me) and just get a chuckle out of how much love I had for my first engine that brought me to the top.
The pain fades, the memories don't. ;)

Semper Fidelis. Rest in Peace Engine. You went above and beyond the call of duty. A beautiful creation and one that brought so much joy to so many lives. In the real world, and in the digital world. Ridden by a legend, Brian 636, everyone's least favorite motovlogger but everyone's most favorite bike. Hit rev limiter around the world. What a journey. I started riding last year on an R3. Now I am about 9,300 miles on a 2022 636, largely because of this channel. Just learned wheelies a couple weeks ago. The engine may have died but its legacy is perhaps one of the most influential bikes, literally in the history of motorcycles. Love you Brian. Hope to ride with you some day brother. RIP to the LEGENDARY 636. FINAL LAP AND STUNT TRACK RECORD FOR ALL THE FANS OF THIS CHANNEL! 21 GUN SALUTE, FULL MILITARY HONORS. SHE HIT THE LAST CHECKERED FLAG BOYS. SEMPER FIDELIS.

I agree I was on my way home when I stopped at a light my bike sounded so bad clattering I immediately put my finger on the nut to the cct and could spin it so I tightened as I drove until I made it home. Found that the nut backed off. Glad I caught it at the stop light. About to start it up tonight after all of that wish me luck lol.
