My favorite form of jazz is hard bop with Booker Ervin and Hank Mobley as my favorite saxophonists. Anything with the rhythm section of Paul Chambers, Wynton Kelly, and Philly Joe Jones is essential. Mid 50's to mid 60's Bluenote and Prestige are the absolute best labels to collect. Impulse, Riverside, Savoy, Columbia, Atlantic and Verve also have their moments but have weaknesses. The Verve releases are often loaded with overdubbed strings, while Columbia especially with Miles pulled him in a pop direction with director Gil Evans. Many artists had open contracts like Jimmy Smith who bounced back and forth between Bluenote and Verve often multiple times a year! His Verve material included soundtracks and orchestral backing which wasn't Bluenote's thing.Philip Bailey should be filed in soul. My picks are "Workin' with the Miles Davis Quintet, Jimmy Smith's The Sermon, and Red Garland's trio Manteca with Ray Barretto on congas .
Great condition and beautiful covers......with ugly defacing price stickers. Why couldn't you at least put the price tags on the BACK of the albums? It is a great collection though.
Nice vinyl collection I want to get in to jazz music
Thats cute...Count Bassee. Its Baysee my dear. Love your smile, and sweetness and all those great records!

Hey there!! What a cool Jazz box!! It's actually "The 3 Sounds". I love them!! A lot of super cool Miles Davis!!! Nice Video!! Thanks!!
I`ve been dabbling.. I like free jazz, like Albert Ayler and Ornette Coleman, a little Sun Ra... Great stuff in that box!
Has anyone come across any Blue Note 7000 series, 10'' LPs? They sell for about $50 to $150 each depending on the condition.
give me that box!!!
Jimmy Smith and Herbie Mann for me!
This collection would sound splendid on my 59' v-m tri-omatic consolette with extention speaker. No Henry Mancini?
ill take the whole box please :D

It’s Count Bay-see, not Bassy and Pat Meth-ee-ny, not Methany.
