Oh I want them to go into straight song and dance once the band of the red hand gets together.
. IIRC there’s a part where they are singing it and mat is thinking about how badly he wants them to stop and how the song gives him the chills or creeps. That would be a fun scene. lol
They HAVE to, it's up there with rains of castamere, one of the best songs and character moments in the series. it's both funny and gives you chills

Must feel very good knowing that by now, your channel is tied to the success of not only the WoT books, but also that of a show that is by all means aimed to blow up.
He's already bad, really bad at only 35ok, hitting such numbers probably wouldn't be good for him.
For some months now, I almost quit watching him altogether.
I now just sometimes step by older video, or once in a blue moon check Fantasy news, if the topic interests me enough...

I think it's really weird how, when something gets an adaptation, there always seems to be those fans who just want to hate and trash it, even before it ever comes out.
On another note, I'm going to be picking up The Eye of the World for the first time soon.
What I’m hearing is, I have a time limit on when I have to finish the books so I can watch that second video.. 😂

Ooohhh I like your idea and how you'll do the two reviews per one episode!!
If it was me, I would've split my two into: 1) a video on how the episode adapted the book(s) = accuracy, interpretation, changes, book-related spoilers etc.
and 2) how the production of the TV show itself was = pacing, dialogue, acting, theories/spoilers based on that one episode's info only, etc.
The show is still a year away and 11 min video for explaining the review style. If I had a time travelling secret I would definitely have shared it with you :p Love the idea. Bravo 👍

Fantastic series, already halfway through eye of the world and have already bought the great hunt audiobook ( as it's quite busy now but I can listen to it while working ) fantastic books and fantastic CZcams channel! Looking forward to your content !

This combined with the hype on the rest of this channel and Merphy Napier’s reviews are making me want to read just the first book of WoT over and over so I can be in on all the specifics for Season 1. It’s sitting in my Kindle library and I just haven’t touched it yet smh. And of course Daniel proves once more he has earned all the support he is given, for not too many people go out of their way to be forward with their biases, strengths, and weaknesses when making reviews. I can’t wait to see how this all pans out!!

Wow, I'm impressed by the amount of thought you put in all of this, months before the show air. And I am super glad you decided to do a spolier free review for those who are behind with the series (just getting to the book 2 myslef, yes, it's your and Merphy's fault).
I also wish there were episode by episode reviews of Witcher, I hate Netflix for releasing it all at once :(

Honestly this community is one of the best ever about spoilers because we all took varying lengths to finish, I'm currently on book two, and am already a fan of the writing style. I think everyone is that way because of the sheer length of the series
I avoid most of your WoT content that potentially has even slight spoilers since I started listening to it after the Wheel of Time show info started to come out. One more book to go, so I'm excited to go back into your content and watch all the WoT content and can't wait for your take on the show, two reviews sounds like a great idea.

As someone who started reading these in 2001 and watching all the licensing drama in the background for years. I honestly never thought we would see an on screen adaptation of any kind.
I like this idea!! I haven't read the series yet and it's definitely on my list. Some suggestions:
1. Let the first (immediate) review be only about the episode and how you like it.
2. Let the secondary review (name is like "Deep Dive" or something for identity) do a deep dive sort of how the channel "Emergency Awesome" does for GoT. It's a good reference.
I'm very excited! More WoT Series content to hold us off between episodes!

Tfw Daniel is such a good, in depth reviewer, that he makes an 11 minute video reviewing his reviews and we all watch it XD
I personally don't think anyone is "unqualified" to review anything really. They just have to be clear on where they're coming from and what their background is, which I think you do a great job of.
The proposition of being unable to watch the in-depth analytical reviews is how you have finally driven me to mentally commit to getting as far into the (as-yet unstarted) books by the launch of the show as possible. (It's been on TB-listened-to-on-audiobook for a while.)
It is oh so worth it, and audiobooks are nice to help get through it a little faster. (I admit I listened to books 7-9) The payoff in character development after devoting that much time to a series is well worth it.
I really like the idea, and I will definetly watch the first one, if I manage to finish the complete series until season 1 comes out I will also be checking out the second review (I just started book 3 so still have a long way to go)

As a new WoT reader this is perfect for me. I plan on at least mostly catching up on the series before the tv show drops, but if I'm not done I will at least have the spoiler free reviews.

My favourite content creator for Game of Thrones was Alt Shift X, their videos were so detailed in all the implications of each scene and character development. I'm sure you could achieve similar levels of detail and passion.

There is always a certain degree of subjectivity in any art review. We know your tastes. Trust us to view your reviews in context with what we know about your tastes, in relation to our own tastes. Ignore the haters, you can’t please everyone one.
Honestly I had no expectation of reading WoT books but when I got spoilers I slowly decided I'm going to read it so basic book one book two spoilers are pretty good to convince someone to read the books I'm super hoping for mistborn reviews as first born is an awesome series that I am always super excited for the next book

In ways I think the First book will work well for a first episode as you have the Fade and Trollocs right at the start. So this will get the people that haven't read the books into it with a bit of action.
So far I don't have any major issues with the casting as for me it's about the feel of the character as opposed to what they actually look like. Really hoping that they don't get rid of a major character like Loail though.
Has it been disclosed if all the season's episodes drop at once, or if they're coming out on a staggered basis? IIRC Amazon typically drops the whole season at once, as with Good Omens, The Boys and Carnival Row.

I don't believe they have. Several of the actors who I follow on Instagram have still been posting from their home countries as recent as today (18MAY).

Hope and fear are high. At the time i'm listening audiobooks of wheel of time on book 7. My first time for the series and loved it from the first 15 minutes when i started. Hope it goes well and not like Song of ice and fire.
I'm just still salty that so many other fantasy series got their motion picture debut before WoT. I think I first read TEotW in....2005? 2006? Hmm, I was in high school but have been eager to see a screen adaptation ever since. I'm anxious for the announcement of the premiere!

Has weekly episode release been confirmed by Prime/Rafe? I've been hoping for it, but don't remember seeing it anywhere. If it has, your format sounds great. Would you change the format if it's a full season release at once?

@Vox Populi the last 3 series I watched (Good Omens, The Boys and Carnival Row) were all released all at once
Hopefully they release it 1/ week. It s a lot better because you have plenty of time to think about the episode, talk about it on the internet, make predictions etc. All at once kinda ruins this. Also it is a big show so i guess they will do it once a week to make it more popular. By the time they release ep6 everyone will talk about wot.
I think you should do a roundtable with a different group of fans each week. Maybe patrons?

Off topic, but I picked Malazan back up. In book 4 now and I feel like I should have a corkboard with all kinds of yarn, pins, and such like a conspiracy theorist. I'd almost be down for a Malazan show if I felt like I could actually follow who was who.
Would you recommend watching or holding off on the show if we haven’t read the books but want to?
If this show gains a fraction of the traction we all hope it does:
It will be very hard to be active in the community you will ache to dive into without spoilers considering the story is complete and we all see it through that lens.
So my advice: go get that lens! The community you can share in will outway any visceral satisfaction of seeing the story told visually (awesome as we all demand it be!!)

Sounds like you want to get some practice with reviewing TV -- burn through the remaining Expanse novels, then do episode reviews for the excellent TV adaptation! That will get you prepped (and I suspect a miniseries of Expanse episode reviews/responses would do pretty well.)
