I have a built 18hp briggs horizontal sounds just like that. Sometimes when ive been drinking I just start it up,grab a chair and listen to it run for awhile it sounds better than some hotrods.
I use to spend alllllll the money I made Throwing Hay bails on the farm just to Race these units back in the day .... Stabil mower series days in 1999 or so . The classes and awesome group of guys in Pennsylvania is awesome in 2023 . I always like seeing the Pennsylvania Racing Mower Dudes show up 💪🤠🚀
Looks sweet man! I have basically the same Vanguard all ARC billet parts, Dyno Cams, Isky, Comp Cams valve train. Messing around with forced induction now though. Have a baby turbo good up to 1000ccs and a little Eaton M-45 supercharger. Have to figure out which route to take with this though? They both have some advantages and disadvantages which is holding up the works on that at the moment. Super I can use a draw through carb, but turbo I would have to go with a blow through carb and though it is possible to do say a slide or butterfly small carb blow through.... don't know if they're going to be problematic with everything that comes along with a blow trough design? What are you running for fuel? Gas or Alcohol in your Briggs?? What M.M. size slide carbs do you have on it at the moment? Just curious, that's all? I don't race tractors, so no worries about being competitive here, Lol. Thanks my man and hope you have a great reliable season with your Vanguard!
really nice idle Try to set it at slowest possible idle maybe with a bit choke on and let it runs a bit of Coal.. I think it will sounds even better and Looks so good.. best regards J.
Looks great :D I am a sort of begginer...is there a sort of hub store with lawnmower parts, which lawnmowers are a good choice for aftermarket mods and repairs? Thanks!
Thats awesome. Im just wondering was that engine mate to be a vertical or horrizontal shaft because if it was a verti le how does the oil get to the valves and everywhere else because i want to make my 340cc engine a horrizontal shaft engine like that
Depending on just how fast you want to go you can probably use an oil splasher like the smaller briggs use. Its like a little metal paddle thst bolts onto the connecting rod and dips/splashes into the oil on every stroke. If its going into something fast it would probably be worthwile to either get a tiny electric oil pump or run a small pump off the crank, but im talking like 40+ mph
Only some of us in the world know how much work, time, money and effort, it takes to build a unit like this . Good job buddy 💪🤠
men will modify literally any engine in the world, i love it

When it's idling, it sounds like a Model B John Deere.
now that
is *fucking sick.*
Beautiful
What do you race them on? Looks cool but besides taring up the lawn, what kinda racing do these compete in. I am interested.
There are a few circle track series and money races, also some drag racing.
Looks great :D

What brand and model is the lawnmower I’ve been trying to get my hands on one🧐
Weed eater, craftsman, poulan, and husquavarna
Hey man how much hp do most of the Briggs 24 hp engine make fully built if u have seen one
where did you get the tires and wheels from?
Either Hoosier directly, summit, a local speed shop
After seeing those two flat slides on there, I have to admit I was expecting a lot more of a racy idol
It's too hard to tune! Went with a single pumper carb.
Bad ass
Nice bro have you seen my tractor
Ayo how fast does this go? 😂
How fast does it go can you make a video on how fast u can go down the street
What size rear tyres are these man
15.0/8.0-8 on a 10in wide rim.
Are you running a centrifugal clutch? CVT? Or something else?
It's a centrifugal Bully Clutch.
What carb are you using
How fast does it mow an acres
I just learned that performance cams don’t have compression releases so how does it start and not compression lock I’m asking because I’m confused
I just learned they use bigger starters
High torque starter
