I love this song too! Despite the heavy others want on this. It’s smooth and I like that Jonny stands out as the “heavy” of this song. It speaks volumes this way and you hear more raw emotion of the artist instead of over powering sounds of instrumentals or beets. When he collaborates with others that are not the same style of match, it’s the only issue I have ever seen and only on a few. Kyle Lucas was a great match up but stuff happens. . He’s doing better at this and on his own without a band. This time around I think he’s got proper support and infrastructure to his SOLO career. I think at this point they are just feeling it out to see what will work. But to do solo, That’s harder to maintain in this industry. And I believe it’s what he needed right now in his life :) and for us who love his vocals and lyrics. And needed more of him back in our lives.
Understand first that Jonny is literally my all-time favorite vocalist. Like, if there was anyone in the world I could sing like, it would be Jonny. Slaves was one of my top 5 favorite bands. And I still regularly bump his work in Emarosa. That being said, he is absolutely at his best in a band. IMO obviously. And I feel like ABD with Slaves was literally his best work to date. But again, that’s just my opinion and at the end of the day I just hope he is living healthy and doesn’t relapse!

I think it’s his vocals and the lyrics just are a perfect combo wether emerosa, dance Gavin dance, slaves or now his solo. I agree my favorite vocalist too. To me he is just Jonny. I don't think it's even just the need to go heavy. The way his vocals have been tracked, the actual beat and production is the biggest issue. Last couple of albums fell short because of the person producing and making beats.
Also, something with the production of his vocal seemed over compressed. Wish you would’ve went with a pop vibrant more “fuller” sound of quality for his R&B style of voice.
