I was out in CA on vacation, and I was pulled over on the 405 for speeding. The officer started laughing when he heard what I was playing on my phone when he asked me for my license. I told him I was responding to a 1183 on the 405. The officer still laughing says, " 10-4 and have a great day and drive careful" no ticket. But, we were both laughing..... He love the show too.

Visited LA back in '80 from a country far, far away and got to see the CHiP's flying down the freeway on the way out to Disneyland. Probably chasing Charles Manson.
I wish I could find out what section of freeway they were on at the very beginning of the theme music where they merged onto the freeway from somewhere in Downtown Los. Angeles
The key to figuring it out is the building that looks like it has a moat around it. Its the Bunker Hill Department of Water and Power Building at 111 N. Hope St. Los Angeles, CA 90012. They took N. Hope street and merged onto the 101 freeway, south bound.
