  • It's sow time here in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia! Let me show you all the seeds I'm sowing RIGHT NOW, with a goal to supply our entire kindergarten community with all of their for my Spring and Summer veggie seedlings, by selling seedlings at the annual kindy fundraiser.
Are you looking to plan your SPRING vegetable garden and wondering which seeds to sow? I'll tell you all the seeds you can be planting right now - and which ones you should wait for. The biggest question though - how much money can we raise selling seedlings in just 8 weeks time? Can you help? Get in touch at ChristieCooperComms@Gmail.com

Super project, and a useful vid to boot, thanks! Great to see content from and about Melbourne. I've not started any summer planting seeds yet but my aim this year, on our little farm in Central Victoria, is to get pumpkins in nice and early (Octoberish) so they can be harvested before first frost next year (which can be as early as March). Good luck with the seedlings and the kindy stall. 🙂

You must have so much gorgeous growing space on the farm! Thanks for the lovely feedback Richard. Best of luck with those pumpkins!

Very helpful to hear from someone in the same climate, great videos! I'm gonna do eggplant, tomatoes, cucumber, and red capsicum this week. My brocolli grew huge over the winter in Melbourne but I got no heads, I did sow them in the last month of Autumn though so maybe it was too late. When the heads finally crept through in the last few weeks there was too much sun and they kinda bolted.

I’d love to see the progress of your seeds/seedlings. You will be a few weeks ahead of me so I’ll be able to use your tips.

What tomato varieties are you growing? I only bother with cherry and san mazano. Easy to grow, collect seeds from fresh fruit, same with chillies, capsicums etc

Are you starting from seed or seedlings? And have you got a spot to start seeds inside or is it outside only?

    • @Jan88888

@@ChristieCooper I would start from seed. I don’t have any equipment such as heat mats but have inside and outside space

Gee! I hope you fare better than I did a couple of years ago.
I did best with seedlings, especially crazy easy things to grow like mint and basil.
Now the only things I sell are succulent cuttings and small plants online.
That way I'm not hanging around all day but just fill orders. All the best!

Basil was one of the most popular ones last year for us, I worry I might have left the basil a bit late though this year! Haven’t actually done succulents before but I should try some of those too!
