It's always so difficult isn't it Sean, to part with books that have been your companions for so many years.
You have some amazing titles there 😊
Treasures! Like archeological ruins, eh? Grit your teeth, bless the lot of them, and have a "yard or garden sale" (as we say in Kansas) or similar. Then keep what you love. I remember aĺl the schòolbooks we dragged around. Gotta love 'em!
Love books. They are a comfort in hard times and friends in fair weather. Cannot bear to part with them. Would love a "London signs" video or series.
Working my way through some of your older vlogs, i enjoyed this one and even ordered a few books i fancied from Ebay😂
Geoff's successful organic garden was our Bible when we built our first allotment. Still cherish it
I am a Minister who worked up to a Ph D so have a fair few books, I have made them available for people to borrow, it's a huge challenge to me as they don't always come back in a timely manner, or at all.
I love books, I have too many 😂
So hard to go through those. I have a lot of books (a hold over from my dad... I remember his home libraries in the basement) and there are a few areas that I could go through which no longer really apply to my life, but so many more that I couldn't part with. I have a few friends that are published so I have all of their books (many signed and such, especially one from some guy named Sean James Cameron!) My dad was a historian in Montana and had a huge collection of books on Western History and especially on the Blackfoot tribe and Plains Indians which his research branched into later on. When he passed, mom donated 1500 books (give or take) to the Blackfoot Community College library, many of which were first editions or hard to find and are now part of the permanent library collection. As for Great Railroad Journey's, I absolutely love the series (his garish clothing is always a hoot!) as well as Great Canal Journeys, which I watched up until Pru and Tim retired due to Pru's health.
I love books 📚 and keep buying books 📕 when I find them at the dollar tree. I found a cookbook that retailed for $30 for $1.25 😊
I have been married 49 years and for wedding presents was given the womans own cook book and Percy Throwers gardening book. The garden one people would be horrified at the chemicals etc but although Geoff Hamilton was my hero I can't get rid of Percy people who don't like books wouldn't understand good luck sorting
I would love the dig for victory book as i'm so interested in that eraxx
Hi Sean, all my garden books are like old friends just can't let them go. ❤.
Oh my goodness, i had Smoke and fluff as a child! It was my favourite book!! Blast from the past😂
Only just discovered you so im enjoying your videos! 👍
Not an easy task Sean but at least you have made a start. Has to be done if you want to travel light. Interested in the Paganism part of your life. We should be free to choose whatever we wish to follow without judgment from others.
Lol. It is so hard to get rid of books. You sound like me, oh I must keep this one because it has a ....or it has a good way to do..... Good luck with the clear out
This is so funny, move all the books onto the floor then put them back on the shelf!
I know it's hard to get rid of things but you have to be tough & realistic - apart from the ones you have emotional attachment to & want to keep how many of the others will you ever open never mind read. Those are just excess baggage & weigh you down collecting dust instead of letting go & keeping ones that'll give you pleasure to look through.
Gardening books are repetitive, you only need one or two that you will refer to when you can't remember or want to know something.
Been there, done that & now the books on the shelf make me happy instead of frustrated with myself for keeping them.
Sean. I really enjoyed that, thankyou.
Hey Sean, Do you know if there have been any published diaries of WWII allotment gardeners? Matthew
We have a book 'farm' nearby, it has around 15,000 books. They not only sell books but will buy them too. The bonus is that they have a lovely cafe there too.
You can still buy MiniDisc players in Japan.
I wish people would do their research, on Paganism, too. It's so frustrating when our belief system is misrepresented, due to ignorance.
So true!!! Pagan means to be of the land, countrymen.. living on the land. Has nothing to do with evil. It is no wonder Sean loves gardening and the land so much. Rome: if you weren't practicing the 3 main religions(christianity, Judaism, Islam) being enforced, they called you a Pagan... equating that to being evil or bad and that error in meaning has been passed down. I also look to the sun, moon, stars, constellations for the signs of the seasons... it lets us know what is going on.. as above, so below.
Hi Sean I'm a bookworm too. Its hard to part with any books and I would be as bad as you.🤔😢😂
Great look at books u can sell. nice to books u can keep Great video
The book of shadows is often mistaken for a grimoire. People call their 'grimoire' a book of shadows, which is incorrect.
Excellent Sean, you prompted me to go through all my garden books, some i bought over 40 years ago.
I really enjoyed that, it was great looking through your books
Books are Best. Best gift you can get, best gift you can give.
Maybe start an allotment library, you never know
Quite a few of your books look familiar to me!
The best religion is gardening. No arguments. 😁
When religious people tell me they are going to pray for me; I usually say: and I’ll think for you.
😅😅😅 Sorry Sean, but your "before and after" cleanout pictures look slmost identical 😂. But, 10 pounds is 10 pounds!
Why can an old book without a barcode not be sold? I'd keep them just because they are old.
Nice selection of books, particularly the paganism ones. Have you ever done any moon gardening or done a video, I find it very successful. Worship of the earth mother and sky father is the kindest form of religion and not the hellfire and damnation hatred expressed by Christianity.
Yes I’ve done it for years and will show more of it on video moving forward.
That's a great idea for getting rid of books . Sean.
Narrow minded people. shame on them for saying what they said.
Oh Sean you're fab! I had many laugh out loud moments watching this! There wasn't much being cleared out😂😂😂...."oh they don't want it....I'll keep it!"😂😂😂
