Huge fan of Dr. Paul, recently read your book. This answered my question about vaccines. Looking to start a DPC myself, another question I have is how are your patients covered once pregnant? Does their high deductible insurance plan appropriately cover prenatal services and hospital deliveries?
Thanks for the comment - I appreciate it. Due to the Affordable Care Act, all insurance plans have to cover prenatal care as well as hospital deliveries, that's one of the many reasons why health insurance plans cost so much. And, that's why I advise all of my patients that they should have some form of health insurance. If you're starting a Direct Primary Care practice of your own, I highly recommend my sister site, www.startupdpc.com/ - it has a ton of tools and resources for you to start and grow your direct primary care practice!
Thank you so much for bringing the issue to the fore. I add the catastrophic component as a broker. You are so right about the "Broken Health Insurance Model". $8,200 max out of pocket on Marketplace for 2020. Amazing. I would pay $1,200 for that plan with no primary care. I am soooo on board with this!
Awsome! Excellent interview questions especially around scale. Dr. Thomas did a great job and I grabbed the book to follow up. I'm curious, would be consider mid level like pa p or is there too much restriction on license to support his practice model?
Dr. Thomas did a wonderful job explaining the DPC model. DPC for the win!
Douglas Farrago Thank you! I appreciate the support #DirectPrimaryCare
