      Dude the first Star Wars was never really humorous unless the bantercounts, other than that it is ominous and like discovering an unknown entity. Everyone liked it apparently. Then we got ESB and by then Lucas had planned out the other previous 3. Ah, what a time to he alive. Infact I would like to add to the lore with a small scale comic. I personally interpret Abeloth as serving as an "anti-Force." The Son is the Dark Side of the Force, the Daughter the Light Side and the Father is a balance between the two. But Abeloth? Abeloth is DEATH. The end of the Force through the end of life itself. That is why she is one of the only common enemies between Jedi and Sith - they disagree on how to serve/use the Force, but neither of them want to end it.

    I would imagine that Centerpoint is working against some a combination of:
    1) The configurations that the black holes have to be in are not compatible with at least stable orbits in the long term, or there are sufficiently many of them that there's no way you're not going to have black holes ejected from the system or merging with each other over the long run, so Centerpoint is doing a combination of station-keeping and orbital corrections.

    It's a shame, because I'm a huge Lovecraft fan, so the Abeloth arc would have been pure brain candy for me. Seeing the hints of something truly alien like Abeloth driving Force users insane from beyond the inescapable pull of ravenous stellar phenomena, and finding out that impossibly ancient artifacts like Centerpoint Station and what had been thought of as natural phenomena like The Maw were actually purpose-built systems designed to lock that horror away... Theoretically, the black holes could drift apart, albeit in clusters. It all depends on the orbits. The black holes won't simply be attracted to each other as if they are magnets. Unless they are completely evenly distributed, the black holes could end up going in different directions. Also, there is a phenomena that opposes gravity called dark energy. The maw cluster was held together in stable orbits by centerpoint, and without centerpoint, some black holes will be pulled together, while some will "shoot" off. That said, things get very whacky when dealing with multiple black holes. With our current understanding of black holes, you can use two black holes interacting with each other travel back in time!

    • @SephirothRyu
      @SephirothRyu Pƙed 3 lety +1

      Better description: A number of facilities, Centerpoint and others included, were basically keeping them in an equilibrium of sorts. The ones that got destroyed first were the ones in charge of the "keeping them together" aspect. Other facilities were in charge of "keeping them far enough apart to not all join as one." Perhaps because this would either weaken the prison to combine them into a single localized entity, or because of some other reason that might have basically been "tl;dr, we need to use a bunch of black holes across a certain area of space in order to preserve the seal."
      Or, in the event that Abaloth was, as per that one theory, a "reset button" more than a terror that the Ones tried to keep away, then perhaps letting all the black holes merge would have actually caused her harm. And perhaps the natural orbits combined with the various functions and alterations put into place by Centerpoint and similar facilities was, in fact, essentially an insanely large mechanical computer/clock which would be set to release her when she is needed. And which may have had a failsafe for in the event that one or more controlling stations were destroyed (which is very much possible given the theory being about her being a "reset switch" for when there is too much war).

    • @jayburn00
      @jayburn00 Pƙed 3 lety

      @@SephirothRyu wow. Has some similarities to my idea with the whole equilibrium thing, but I really like your idea of it being similar to a giant mechanical computer. Sort of like a giant Antikythira Mechanism made of black holes and space stations. This would also seem to fit with how the Ones went about things, having their creations often have multiple purposes.

    More accurately I think the black holes "drifting apart" was more like an illusion, that they would absorb one another rather without something to hold them apart and as they did would form "cracks" between those that were less proximal and those more proximal (and likely affected by Abeloth herself). This illusion may seem more accurate as the black holes were initially pulled together by both stations (however this assumes the stations could only pull them to that point and not from... which is kinda ridiculous). Alternatively it might just be that what kept the black holes from being able to absorb each other or consume Abeloth herself was Abeloth constantly pushing against them with the force (and this would also make sense... within the realm of Star Wars at least).

  • @PyroMancer2k
    @PyroMancer2k Pƙed 3 lety +2

    Well the black holes floating apart might be a result of Abeloth using her powers to slowly push open her cage. The other possibility is that the gravitational balancing act required would be insane as if you have a line of black holes eventually based on spacing and size some are going to move towards each other but that means that others will move away from each other creating larger gaps in some areas and smaller ones in others. Not to mention everything in space is already moving as it orbits the galaxy and everything in space pulls on everything else as star clusters pass by and many other things all move around changing the gravitational balance in an area.
    Orbits in the galaxy are not like orbits in the solar system where everything is on a track and nicely spaced out. Look at our own solar system's history as our current closest neighboring star is 4 light years away but millions of years ago a star that is now like 22 light years away was less than a light year away from us. The galaxy is more like a busy highway with stars moving at different speeds as they pass by each other and shift around in positions. Their all going the same general direction but their not all gonna get there are the same time or same order. And as they pass each other they pull on each other causing some to slow down and others to speed up.
    So yeah black holes getting pulled out of position over long periods of time makes perfect sense as nothing is stationary in space, it's only our point of view that makes it appear stationary. Much like people thought the sun went around the stationary Earth in ancient times because our perspective makes it appear that way.

    • @PyroMancer2k
      @PyroMancer2k Pƙed 3 lety

      Side Note: There is this misconception that black holes are gravitationally stronger than other objects. They are not, they are simply more compact as if you were to take a giant star of the same mass it would have the exact same effect gravitational speaking on the area around it. The main different is that because the mass is so compact you can get closer to the center of mass then you could a massive burning hot star. But also because the gravitational effects are so compact it creates a case were gravity won't let even light escape. But if you are say the distance out from it like that of Earth you won't even notice such as if you were to compress our star into a black hole the Earth would continue on it's orbit normally, granted the planet would freeze but in terms of gravitational effects on orbit nothing changes because the mass of the sun doesn't change, only how compressed that mass is.
      It's like that video which weighs more a Kg of Steel or a Kg of Feathers and the guy immediately responses with a Kg of Steel. Then the rest of it is people trying to explain their weight is the same it's just Steel is more sense so we consider it heavier because it has more mass in a smaller area but when you have the same weight amount the objects weight the same by definition.
