The pigeon rather looked like an adult Ivory Gull 🙂

That was what I hoped for a second when I saw it first from very far away, but it quickly flew and then the identification was clear.

It's mediocre, but it wasn't that long of a drive ^-^

hey. congrats for finding these rare birds. I really enjoyed the video. We are hoping for the Ross geese to arrive in germany. That would be awesome. greets Stefan

I hope so for you too. Do large groups of Barnacle Geese stop over in Germany during migration?

  • @TheJacksnipe

Ross's Geese never ever have a look on Google Maps. In my opinion from Belgium it would be the easier way via the UK, Iceland and Greenland back to Canada 🙂 But I bet they gonna take the Norwegian route one more time. Would have been nice if they carried a transmitter. But even the ring has been spectacular, because it proves the bird's wild origin.
    Nice video one more time!

I think they will just follow the Barnacle Geese into their breeding grounds. What will happen next we will see. Maybe the do find their way back home, but as it is probably a pair maybe they will just start breeding amongst the Barnacle Geese. The ring is so cool because it gives you insight in how a real wild vagrant can behave and it also shows the concept of a carrierspecies is real, although they can switch species.
