Man, that beige leather is just the best interior possible on a CX. I think it will be worth it to repair (or have repaired) the seats when the rest is done!
Certainly cleaned up well, as for the wear to the seats, it's character and charm, shows it's lived a life rather than being sat around looking like a museum piece like a lot of classics seem to do these days, and as for the height issue, I think in these you're meant to lay back and drive like you were sat on a sofa watching TV, in contrast to driving a 2CV, of course... :P
I use RainEx all the time. For some strange reason, their anti-fog glass cleaner doesn't work as well on the interior glass of my CX, yet works brilliantly on my VW Bora glass. Very strange.
Loving your videos on the CX progress. I had a CX Athena in 1985 , I loved that car ❤ being a MK 1 it had the great instrument panel. Every journey felt special in the CX , the hallmark of a great vehicle.

For anyone who suffers from sticky plastics on old Citroens or Peugeots - I have found a great solution! Mix two spoons of baking soda in 1L of hot water, then use a brush to rub it generously on the plastics. The stickiness falls off with moderately hard brushing and can be wiped away with a wet towel. I did my entire 2001 C1 interior like this (the plastic parts only) - it was all of it sticky, and now the plastic is perfect! I recommend taking off the plastics and cleaning them at home in the bathroom, to avoid a mess in the car.
To clarify - the sticky goo I refer to forms on many plastics on mid-range '00 cars, especially the frenchies as far as I know. The plastic they used there reacts with the air and in 10-15 years forms a gooey top layer that attracts a ton of dirt, looks horrible and is a nightmare to clean. I tried maybe 10 different cleaning solutions before that - universal cleaners, spirits, wet wipes, dishwashing soap, WD40, even brake clean - nothing could take off the sticky layer on the plastic. Only baking soda in hot water.
i had masking tape o the rubbers of of the door windows when i was t cutting the tape left glue residew behind used methlated sprits to clean it off but it reacted and started to disolve the rubber lots of soapy water neturalised it
I used Isopropanol (also known as Surgical Spirit and Rubbing Alcohol) to dissolve the sticky rubber coating on the plastic parts of my Fiat interior. It works well and you get a bonus high from the fumes as well😳

My dad was a used car dealer for a while, and if he took a liking to a car he might use it as a daily driver, especially if it didn't sell. For a little while in the 80s I remember he used a very shiny black CX off the forecourt a lot - and he took to naming it 'the flying coffin' due to the the sleek and low profile.🙂
Just found the channel and I'm absolutely loving to watch you work on this CX! It's one of my top tier dream cars and I'm definitely taking notes on the brakes, bearings and all. Superb job with the cleaning and great filming/editing too! All the best from Finland 💪🏽
Maybe switch the top of each front seat for now? I donnot know if it is possible but the idea of identical spare part for each side is really common, just eventually change the side of things to change the position of the seat? That’s turning into a beautiful car. It seems to be Pallas spec. Chlorine to get rid of mould is great idea. I guess it kills the mould. Never heard of that before. I would have used bleach and vinegar but I think the chlorine is a better idea. Magic carpet ride soon. 👍
My OCD would not have allowed me to not replace that sound deadening material beneath the rear seats. 😊. FYI - there is leather repair material that can be spread onto the hole to fix it. Think of it like bondo for leather. Check out sites that sell leather repair and dye (which will help with those worn bolster areas).

Really enjoying all the Citroën CX videos. Such a cool old car. The interior cleaned up great. I'm not a massive fan of leather myself but those seats look pretty awesome. They remind me of something from the set of the original Alien movie for some reason. And of course beige or tan coloured interiors are the best. Much nicer than boring black at least!
If you check old prospects for series 2 CX then on all photos drivers seats in almost semi-lying position. That's the proper way, reflects relax which this car all about and headroom is not a problem then :D Cheers!

4:52 I totally recommend Rain X for cleaning the glass very good for heavy rain downpours.

Dynamat is known to be decent sound-reduction material, but won't absorb moisture like the original foam!
