He ran away like a coward when Rin was 1. Divorced in 2004. Didn't even bother keeping in touch for 5 years of his stay in Japan. Returned to India and remarried, even though he knew he had a son who needed him, his warmth and a father figure. Sukhpal was living a happy life with his 2nd wife and daughter whilst Sachiye and Rin would've faced difficulties. And Rin had to go on a solo search of his father !! Sukhpal doesn't get to say that Rin lived in his heart when all he did was RUN
Hats off to Sachiye for raising a beautiful son like Rin, as a single mother and making sure he doesn't hate his coward father. You're a beautiful woman Sachiye ❤

Tough words from a womans perspective. The divorce was agreed by both sides and the wife clearly said she didn't want any contact with the father and he stayed in Japan in hopes for 3 years to reconcile with the family. With no hope left, did you expect the man to stay in Japan till today without getting married again? Be a man for once.
I agree with you. He could have made efforts to keep in contact with his son. There's always letters that can be written and it's not like there was no internet. If the father didn't have WIFI there's always a way to access it.
Stop romanticizing absent fathers. Those who couldn't Even care about the whereabouts and wellness of their children. It's really nice of the fathers second family to accept his first child though.

Was there a reason why the father and son didn’t keep in contact just so the son can still know he has a father that cared for him. That meant for most of his son’s life, the father didn’t financially raised his son. We don’t know the entire story but I hope that the father tried to keep in touch with the son. Those who are saying it's his dad's fault that he didn't keep in touch and left Japan and remarried, first be mindful of the complexities of Japan's law about child custody of Japanese+foreign parents. The law is soft towards the Japanese touch even if child/children wants to stay with their foreign parent.
For example search the news of a bangladeshi man fighting for his two girls custody in Japan.
Let's not judge the whole situation over a 2 min video. We don't know the situation in a deeper level but only a bit part.
You mean the Bangladeshi man who kidnapped his two daughters and ran away.. and now the ex wife had to leave her job to move to bangaladesh for years to fight for the custody and after all these years one of her daughter chose her mother instead of the dad.. but she is still stuck cause the other daughter is heavily brainwashed by her father.. you mean the man who kidnapped his daughters then gave multiple interview slut shaming his ex wife without any proof.. that man?
Also this guy had years to have any kind of connection with his son he could have reached out via social media.. he didn't.. he simply abandoned his 1 year old son then came back home, got married, and proceeded to live his life.. there are plenty of examples where men and women have faced similar situations and never stop fighting for their child.. stop sympathizing men who abandon their kids..

Father runs away from his one year old son and wife because he wasn't able to embrace Japanese culture.
These comments don’t even know the full story, yet they go out and claim that the father never tried to reach out to his child. In another interview, the father said he tried to reach out many times and sent letters to the dude’s mum, but she didn’t want any connection anymore and eventually changed her contact information. Despite this, he still tried to find them when the internet became more accessible, through Instagram or Facebook. He and his new wife used to pray for this day, and they were inevitably blessed. Being a father and mother is a crucial role, and children always learn from what they see until they can navigate their own world of responsibility. In the marriage of a husband and wife, relationships can lead to marriage and sometimes divorce. A mother often wants her children to live with her, but we may not fully understand their situation at that time. We can only relate to the situation based on our experiences or what we have observed. A man always wants his children to be happy and often feels defeated in relationships with women. He knows he won’t win by hurting his loved ones. No one knows how much pain he feels from separating from the relationship. I believe this man has faith in God, who has given him happiness before it’s too late. I am happy for this man who has not lost hope.
It's a true and emotional reunion

As a child of separation myself, I feel like somewhat moms play a villain role once divorced. What I think is both parents should just keep their differences somewhere else and let the child and father keep in touch! Most mothers when they separate they take custody of the child and does not allow the fathers to meet their kids! The husband might be bad or whatever but he is still a father for the child! Somehow, you Sikhs and Punjabis think you are superior to every other Indian, that is modern day racism and superiority complex! Bollywood proves it! Every bloody song, character and film is punjabi.
