While story 3 is good, I think it's kind of cruel to abandon the girl who loves you that much for an arbitrary benefit for her career. Even if that act helped her career, I don't think she'd like the separation just for a few more years of success. Those are years of happiest lost between them, and there's always the chance that one of them could die before the reunion.

From the way she talked after the break-up, you could tell she wasn't making the change for him(outside of showing him what he's missing). She never once mentioned anything about getting back together, so she was making the change for herself more than anything.
