    This is why those eyebrows on Instagram aren't made for everyone. Neither are those thin, little 2000s brows. You can't expect everyone to overdraw, over arch, and over thicken their brows then expect it to fit everyone. At the same time, you cant expect everyone to pluck away and thin out every last brow hair and look better. The thick brow trend came from the results of overplucked brows, now we see super models with full, black brows and everyone wants them.
    Literally everyone on Instagram had the exact same makeup look and eyebrows. I have a moderate, slightly rounded face and if I did my brows like that, they would look overwhelming to my facial structure and very harsh. Mine are straight, lighter and thinner and they suit me perfectly. Enhance what we have, never try to recreate and fake what everyone else is doing.

      I've bleached my eyebrows for 2 decades to get them 4 to 5 shades lighter (my eyebrows are naturally super black). The light brown brow helps to make my lashes appear darker and opens up my eyelids. Sometimes I go full blonde if I'm not in the mood to tweeze. Then I'll use a dark brown eyebrow pencil to shape my eyebrows however I want. And other times I don't even bother to bleach, I'll just trim between my eyebrow hairs so that they're not as dense. I do this to allow some skin to show through my black hairs. This creates a greyer look and still frames my eyes nicely. I could never do bold brows bc the dark color of my brows make me look like the Grouch from Sesame Street. It's too chola. I need softness to my face since my nose and chin are so angular.

Well, I never fell for it, but I tried to make my brows look fuller, following my already existent brow shape, because in my head I needed to match them to my dense, dark hair. However, when I look at photos, they look too heavy on me and I couldn't understand why, until I learned about contrast levels. I am a R so my contrast levels are pretty low. I actually look better with lighter but well defined and groomed brows. In my current photos I look actually youthful and fresh, my tiny, deep set eyes pop out more, my face has more light. Constrast levels knowledge is a must, specially because of the microblading and laminating brows routines. They don't fit everyone.

      I don't agree with this video that round shapes need soft eyebrows. Round faces are already soft-looking and would need a bolder brow to balance the softness. I have an angular nose and jaw, so having a lighter brow softens those hard edges to make my face appear flatter and less pointy/jutted out. A harsher bold brow on your round shape creates the hard angles to frame your face so that it is less flat-looking and not too soft. I'm noticing that alot of her videos are opinionated and very confusing. I'm starting to wonder if alot of people are just drinking kool-aid and don't wanna be the one to admit they have no idea what she's talking about or that they don't see themselves in any of the examples in her videos. She helped me to embrace my own figure, my own essence by boosting my own features instead of changing them into something more balanced, something that is not me. I have to say it because you are talking about her "videos" in general and I completely disagree with you. @@JuviaFairyTail015 - I'm talking about her color theory when it comes to makeup, not body image. She's making the claim that plump faces create shadow, which they don't. Her argument is FOR balance. The one thing I agree with her on is that the face needs to be balanced to look the most pleasing. What I don't agree with is her explanation of which types of faces have shadows and which don't, which causes her to give the opposite advice. For me, it's a logical discrepancy. It's not personal. For you, it is personal. You've gained something from some of her videos, this led you to develop a sense of trust, maybe even loyalty. So your reaction is mostly emotional, you don't her to be wrong bc you don't want that trust to be shattered. That's fine, to each their own. If what she says makes sense to you and you feel good despite certain inconsistencies, then those inconsistencies are irrelevant. As you said, who cares if you're not balanced? You clearly don't, which is fine, which means my comment isn't for you. It's for those like me who want information that is applicable and makes sense.

    • @NoNo-sp8pi
      @NoNo-sp8pi Před 4 lety +9

      @@YourMajesty143 from what I understood she didn't say that plump faces create shadow - she said that when a plump face gets puffy/swollen, which is quite easily, it creates unwanted down turned shadows around the nasolabial, inner under eye, and mouth corner areas because the fleshy cheeks around those areas can get very raised and cast shadows (see the way she gestures to the inner parts of her face when she's talking about the shadows). This is very true for me and a lot of other plumper faced ladies and its quite obvious in non-manufactured lighting where the light comes from above/an angle if we dont try to fix it. Therefore its not that obvious in celeb pics where they and their stylists know what their doing ie. fixing lighting, special makeup/hair, preventing swelling. To combat this, Aly says on our bad days we should make our brows lighter, but still angled, so as not to harmonize with thus accentuate our unwanted shadows (but she says to make them dark on angular faces because their shadows are 'pretty' ie. Under the cheekbone), but on days when our shadows aren't so pronounced when we're not swollen or have lost weight, she advises to make them a bit darker and angled because they look good on us like that, just as they look good on plenty of other face types. her tips have truly worked for me and others and I dont think im drinking kool aid.

My face just needs this structure 😄 I don’t know my kibbe type but I narrowed it down to either dramatic, dramatic classic or flamboyant Gamine 😊

    My eyebrows are usually 2 or 3 shades lighter than my hair (and medium in thickness). I look softer and younger when I leave them like that, but sometimes I like them dark and sharp

    As person with high contrast I still don’t look good with dark brows, I am chubby and have a soft face. My eyebrows naturally are bushy and see through not full but they aren’t thin for sure. I also naturally lean towards straight brows. So I don’t like coloring my brows

    My word you look beautiful! I wish your face shot was closer so I could see what you did. Really beautiful.
    Here’s my thing- I have about as pale a face as possible😝 and my hair is grey (whiteish) but I have very dark, a bit heavy eyebrows. Your right! Too much dark can cast shadows. Brown pencils, not too helpful. So how do you lighten what is naturally dark? I try to find light grey pencils but the consistency isn’t moth enough for brows. I want lighter eyebrows. Btw, my all time favorite video of yours is the one, how to make the eyes look bigger. I’ve saved it for a long time now and it is so effective! You really are a brilliant woman.

    It is difficult to remove the color for a black and thicker eyebrow, when I dye my hair, it looks very heavy and the makeup can't do much for it. Painting is still terrible, the paint usually does nothing for it, although it is a little lighter, I had to paint it every two weeks and it started to drop a lot. I would like to be blond, but there is no option but balayage
    High contrast in a soft face is a nightmare guys

    • @IGibbyyy
      @IGibbyyy Před 4 lety +4

      For a long lasting change, you could thin them?
      Otherwise have you tried lighter eyebrow mascara?
      My friend uses them and they work well, the trick she uses is to only use the mascara in the lower and middle portion of the eyebrows, this removes some weight from her eyebrow without much effort
      The colour she uses is actually a very light colour, for people with blonde hair, and it just makes her eyebrows look more wispy i guess 😬😂

    • @Nexxx9872
      @Nexxx9872 Před 4 lety

      @@IGibbyyy thinning them doesnt do much since you only get a dark line in your face (like those terrible 00s pencil eyebrows lol) and i personally prefer a softer look
      i'll try my luck with the mascara trick! i'm just worried about the overrall look and texture, but thank you for your comment!!

    Great video Aly! Can you make a video about the 12 color seasons? And a video about how color season relates to Kibbe body type? Im a True Summer and Soft Dramatic and find it difficult to create soft dramatic look because summers are more muted and have less contrast and soft dramatics look better with more contrast 😊.

    I’m weird, I have very dark thick curly hair, black eyes, olive skin which goes quite tan in the summer, but my eyebrows are very pale blond and thin. I’ve spent decades drawing them on to make them match my colouring, but decided to stop bothering, it’s time consuming and stressful. So now I’m an Hispanic/Indian girl with blonde eyebrows 😅 just as well the bleached eyebrow look is in
