My mom was pregnant with me when my parents married. As I grew up, it was never mentioned even though I could add. My husband and I were going to marry when I became pregnant with our first son. I made sure to let him know how excited I was, and that it was the happiest time of my life, and I would tell him what it was like when he was handed to me.
I cringed when I was listening to Robyn, and OMG...when she dropped her "purity" on the floor, then picked it up and handed it to Kody... I just about died 😂😂😂
It was beyond despicable of her. I felt the same as you.
I feel like most of those kids are going to need years of therapy to get over Robyn's purity speech.

My take from Robyn's spiel was the same, it came across as her kids were a mistake, I know she did this all for Kody's sake, it was part of her manipulation on him, a public display of admiration, something his narcissist mind ate up, Robyn is also a narcissist but a covert one.
Not as covert as she may think!

The REAL story is... Robyn took her half sister's boyfriend and got pregnant on purpose, to trap him. I wish I could remember where that story came from. All I remember is that it was from a reliable source. I believe it, cause that's exactly a "Robyn move".

I saw on another CZcams channel awhile ago that her first husband was interested in her sister. She pursued him and got pregnant so he married her. Sounds like she’s trying to change history AGAIN.
If you remember in one of the last seasons Robyn talks to Kody about possibly having more kids. She believes children are little souls that find them and are destine. She specifically stated she knew Solamen before he was conceived. She believes her first 3 kids would have been born who they are from Kody if she had waited. So same soul no matter the biology in her belief.

Here’s the funny thing Cody was still under the impression that the most obvious place that the kids would come back to was Flagstaff, when none of them had lived there except the ones the five that were still there because by then I think six of the kids had grown up and went away to college

My children's church "pastors" were an older couple who were very into dressing up like mimes and clowns, doing puppet shows and "praise dances" with flags and tambourines.
The woman made up her own dress code for the little girls and would check our outfits to see if they were "appropriate". My Easter dress that had spaghetti straps and a shawl was deemed inappropriate.
She also always made a point to remind us to never sit on her husband's lap, which we never had and didn't plan on it, but I remember her making a big deal about that and saying it all the time. Very creepy to think about as an adult.

John, you're pretty funny and Nikki, don't let the complainers get you down. I have 2 points: wasn't Robyn trying to get Preston to like her instead of her sister? Competition might be a consideration in letting go of one's purity. And 2ndly, speaking to your comment about driving 30 min - I live in a small town and the closest small towns are 15-20 minutes away. People seldom consider activities in other towns unless it church, Wal-Mart or big grocery store.
Someone who went to school with Robyn said she was allegedly promiscuous then....honing her skills early. She's been a troubled soul for a long, long time.❤

I feel like the guy that corrected you was being too sensitive. Good for him that he has a blended family and he loves the way his life turned out. That's wonderful and children are absolutely a blessing. Your blessing is between you and your husband. Life is simpler that way. That is an objective fact. It was unnecessary for him to apply your statement to his own life and situation.
Depends on the couple….people make their lives extremely complicated by marrying people they when they’re not suited to each other, or not willing to do the work of communication and compromise. For many, it’s probably so much easier to be with a new spouse and blend family accordingly than stay in an old toxic marriage

What I love about you two is that you have a world view that helps you to understand religious rhetoric. Agree with your take on how terrible Robyn’s words could fall on children’s ears.
Btw, unless R&K have converted recently, they are not Christian. Mormonism uses similar words as Christianity but they mean WAY different things.
The LDS church is definitely Christian, the same way that Catholics are Christian. They still have core beliefs but they stray according to the “companion” to the Bible, the Book of Mormon.

@@sjohnson65456 can’t fly in. Train and bus goes to New Mexico. Driving is only option. I’ve done the drive (700+ miles) 2 times a year growing up. Even from Denver where my son lived was a trek. Just not as bad as when my great grandfather arrived there in 1883 by wagon.

Catholic here. CCD was fun and Santa stopping by the party. But we had to behave ourselves. I think some of the best memories as a kid is getting the giggles during Mass.
