    Great info. After surgery and radiation I’ve switched to 97% vegetarian diet (still each seafood) and PSA is low and stable. Feel better too.

    Thanks for this video - good to know that diet and metformin can control the rise of PSA.

    I have been on Metformin for six years. The effect on my PSA has been dramatic. I am also on a statin and an herbal anti-inflammatory: turmeric and boswelia. I have moved around the country and had to change urologists more than once. Two of them did not take kindly to my taking metformin. One flew into a rage. The other was insulted and insulting. Neither was interested in learning anything about it. That is an occupational hazard in urology from what I can tell.

      People look up to these medical professionals. I worked in the medical field and met plenty of doctors and specialists. They are no different; they are people with imperfections. Over inflated ego that hinders their professionalism. You need to have a good judgement of character in order to sift out the great doctors from the sh!t ones. And there are only a few of the great doctors around. Not just in Urology but in all field of medicine.

      What dose of metformin are you on and what statin (and dose) are you taking? I think it is lunacy that the MD flew into rage. Wish I could have seen that.

    I have been doing 6-weekly PSA tests over the past few weeks. After my first test I decided to go plant based and by the second test my level had dropped moderately. My doctor told me that diet would not make any difference - not that I accepted that. So, as an experiment I started eating meat again and my level went up above the original level. So, coincidence or dietary regime? Anyway, I have now been referred to a urologist so will see what happens next.

      I'm in the same boat, stage 4 PCa with bone metastases...PSA level of 364 only 3 months ago. Started ADT 3 months ago and started a strict anti-cancer diet protocol which consists of raw nuts/seeds, raw fruit, raw vegetables either juiced(best) in a salad form or blended. You must absolutely do away with meat, dairy, all processed foods, cooked foods in general, sweets/deserts, caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes and any other stimulants..so far so good my last Psa reading 2 weeks ago was 10.5 but most importantly I feel really good and from what I people say around me look healthy...let me know if you want more info and best of luck!

    I've been on metformin for some years now due to the fact that I'm diabetic. I don’t know what impact it’s had on my PSA but I was shocked when my urologist (I'm a German in Germany) recommended a radical robotic prostatectomy. I’m confused. Can I get some help here please?
    I’m 58. PSA is 6. TNM Classification G1, Gleason 6 = 3+3, Grade-Group 1. TNM: T1c L0 V0 Pn0.

    Metformin works for me at 2000mg, but the statins had negative side effects. Diabetes was a side effect of the Lupron. Insulin was to treat the diabetes, high cholesterol was a side effect of insulin. Statins were to treat cholesterols, what a vicious circle.

    • @peacefulruler1
      @peacefulruler1 Před 2 lety

      Diabetes may have been the effect of incorrect diet and lack of exercise and Lupron. Get out and walk and avoid starchy foods and sugar.
      I’m ok Lupron and Metformin and atorvastatin and didn’t experience any of those issues. Fat based statins didn’t harm me whereas water based ones made me exhausted.
      If you cut out saturated fats, especially red and processed meat, that may make more difference than taking statins.
