You know a rapper is legendary when he makes a song calling himself a "Rap God" and gets basically no pushback about it
And this happened even though he was white.... That's proof enough to say that he got god skills in rap.
@@zoned6016 I completely forgot about that and thinking back, I only remember the weird beard part. So like... a nobody pushed back, because I had to look up the dudes name. Lol.
What I love about em is when he raps fast you can understand everything that he says
@@strangerlucky5753 Em really focuses on lyrics and the meaning behind it in all of his songs like a poet. First time I listened to this song when I young I was completely awestruck with flow and beat.
After I got a bit older and paid attention to lyrics that’s when I truly appreciated his music and was saddened when I realized most of today’s rap is kinda hollow, just empty words with catchy beats.
@@strangerlucky5753 yeah that's just you not being a native English speaker. It can. Be tough to follow even if you are a native speaker tho
not only is his super sonic part insanely fast but its super CLEAR, unlike most rappers when they do super sonic parts you can can hear every word he raps in that part with clarity
I wonder how many people realize he is playing “Max Headroom” in that video … His younger fans probably weren’t even around in the 80s
Every single English major and English teacher I know LOVES Eminem because the depths of his fucking rhymes. Like, recognize talent where talent lives. His lyrics get every bit as complicated as an orchestral composition.
The JJ Fad reference is so overlooked in this song. When he says "Lyrics coming at you at supersonic speed (JJ FAD)" he raps the next verse in the same style as the band JJ FAD on their song "Super Sonic". They were a girls rap group in the 90's
Holy shit didn't even realize. I always thought the summa lumma was from when he invented a language... learn something new every day.
MrLboyd- how many cadences is he using?
Eminem- yes

The facial expression from the 7:50-8:10 mark..... priceless......
Pretty sure those 20 seconds cause a LARGE percentage of people to make that face on 1st listen.
Fun fact
In the song " Remember me * eminem had a line about not cursing for 6 minutes which was then followed by an homage to 'slick rick who use to say
" 6 minutes Doug e fresh you're on " on his song" The show " with Doug e fresh
So on remember me Eminem said
" 6 minutes slim shady you're on "
In the beginning of rap god you can hear a flashback to that
" 6 minutes.... 6 minutes.... 6 minutes slim shady you're on"
And rap god is 6 minutes
'Slim shady you're on'
That line is also in criminal track of his 2000 marshall mathers lp
some nice old school Easter Eggs in this track, love the Busta reference:

'Cause I use it as a vehicle to "bus the rhyme"
Now I lead a new school full of students...........So dope!!
@@joehynes5452 yeah it’s really in his pronunciation because then it it sounds like both perfectly

The transformation your face slowly did during the super sonic section was just *chefs kiss*

You're up there with Knox Hill, the difference is the way you talk. It's a lot more relatable to the way I convey my thoughts, while Knox has a little more knowledge of the flow schemes and patterns because he's a rapper as well.

@@lynette. It was short lived though. The character actually became iconic because of all the corporate ads he'd go on to sponsor. Best part is that Eminem outside his songs is very humble man, who just loves this game with all heart, who pays tribute to all greatest MCs and shoutout to new promising MCs.
To show an aspect of this humbleness, Eminem asked his manager if it made sense to buy a Rolex as he saw one that he liked and he didn't know if he could afford it. The manager responded "it really depends on the cost really" as a joke. Eminem showed him one for 10k and asked if it was too expensive. For context, he already released his 3rd studio album at this point. He would have been worth 10s of millions at this point. He still only bought the one.
I should also mention, I knew people associated with his daughters. They are all beyond nice and Eminem definitely is in that group. I happened to be at a major party Hailey was at and a close friend talked with her decently. He said if you didn't know who she was, you would have no idea it was her.
Anyone else see a CZcams “content is unavailable in your country” over the music video? But I can still kinda see the video through it
It’s put there by @mrlboyd because CZcams was blocking this video because of the embedded Eminem video. It disguises the embedded video from the copyright algorithm.
Can’t get past the video being covered up. Pretty lame. Not enjoyable.
Mine says 'Content is not available in your Country due to a Legal complaint from the Government'
But our former National Government plagiarised Eminem's music for their Campaign & were sued by him - so it makes sense!😂
He allways respecting the guys who was there before him , literally almost every hes songs
I just found your channel but I love your reaction style. You seem so well spoken and informed on the topic, plus your reactions aren't over the top. Subscribed and looking forward to watching your other videos.
The "breaking a table over the back of a couple of..." was a reference to his beef with the Insane Clown Posse. Their affiliation with wrestling was brought up a lot when Em would diss them.
Haha! I had to make this same comment. I pointed him to the track "Marshall Mathers" from the original "Marshall Mathers LP"
Every time Eminem hits the "lyric solo," I instantly think of George Watsky's "Whoa Whoa Whoa." Vocal talent that decimates anyone else.
Subbed within 2 minutes of this video. Love how you clearly understand lyrics that others skip over because it's too fast for them to think but you seem to be catching them all. Very cool bro. Can't wait to check out more of your vids!
Bro, I've watched many reactions to this track over the years. So many listeners appreciate the rhyme scheme, production, the annunciation and lyrical dexterity but, you have to be of a certain age to appreciate the full scope references. It's such a great track.
Great reaction! The video is a throwback to the scene in The Matrix where Neo is connected to the mainframe to learn martial arts. Eminem is having all of the rap skills of those mentioned in the song uploaded into his brain. It's on point with the message that he is a product of those who came before.
You sir, understood the video. 👏🥇
You sum it up better than the guy that made this video.
Em is the only artist I can think of who consistently improves his game on the regular. Think about that for a second, man. There are so many groups who are good, but people constantly talk about how much better their "early stuff" was. But it simply isn't true for Em. I am in awe of this man's work ethic.

The “Supersonic” part is from the JJ Fad song which was produced by Dre in the late 80s

His references are also insane. He literally watches obscure stuff from random points. This video focuses on the Max Hedroom incident but he has pulled references from a 3 episode series that was canceled from the 60s, a random reference to a movie from the 80s, and a call back to a movie from the 40s. That's why this song is so brilliant. It's the cadences. It's how different it is. Imo it's a work of art. Not because of the speed that everybody talks about. Which is insane I agree. But that's not why I think this is an unbelievable song
He's always showing respect to the greats that influenced him, it's so awesome to hear IMO

Eminem is just above it at this point. I remember his underground shit before MTV!
The “Supersonic” was in reference to JJ FAD. Old school girl group that rapped fast on the song.
The Supersonic was a direct reference to the 80s female group JJ Fad who's top song was "Supersonic". She does this verse at the end rapping super fast and it starts with "I'm soma luma tomma luma...." Just like he did. This dude is a real child of Hip Hop.

I’d say yes in terms of how much he can flip the words and reverse the meanings and stretch the syllables with phrases etc it’s craZily intelligent. I respect him so much for his wordplay
Rap god has way to many stupid references in it about people talking trash about him at the time. It ruins it for some parts
