I heard this song on some movie or TV show I can’t remember, but I’m obsessed with the song now haha. It’s so happy and fun, I love her. The 80’s looked like such a fun time. I’m glad she’s out there still doing her thing haha. People age, but it doesn’t mean you have to stop doing what you love. I think she sounds fine here. Go Samantha!
Actually, the Bay City Rollers' 1976 version was itself a cover of a 1964 tune originally done by Dusty Springfield. Timeless, in any case.

Unfortunately an example of not aging well (not talking about physical looks, that gets everyone sooner or later). Voice just isn’t there, nowhere near the energy or stage presence of yesteryear. A for effort still doesn’t make a performance particularly good.

Do you know of a video where she's _actually_ singing live in the 1980s or 1990s? In all the videos I've found she was lip-syncing to her studio recordings on stage. I doubt she was ever much of a singer. She was marketable because of her looks (she started out as a "Page 3 girl" / glamour model), and with "studio sweetening" techniques, even average singers can sound good on a studio album. Today it's easier than ever with computers and software like "Auto-Tune," but they still had plenty of methods available to them even in the '80s or earlier.

@@MaximRecoilI totally agree with you! I have watched almost every “live” performance just to see if she’s really singing. I’m glad someone else caught that. My thing is, and I love Samantha Fox! I DO! BUT, as a fan and if I had paid money to go to a concert of hers, and noticed that she was lip syncing, BECAUSE! It is obvious that she is. I had noticed, that they have her vocals up, and you can hear her faintly singing the song with the vocal tracks. I’d be pissed!! Paying to watch someone sing live and it be “sort of” live. You can hear the clapping and other noises, but no taking a breath, especially after running around the stage. Even Madonna as fit is she is, you can hear her out of breath when she is singing live. And now! To go on tour with basically NO VOICE anymore, to pay to watch her sing when she basically just talks through her songs because she’s so winded and can’t hold any sort of note??NOPE!! Not going and paying to watch someone stand there and talk her songs out. Even Blondie sounds better than she does at 80 singing live. Ok. Rant over.
