    CRITICAL UPDATE 9-19-23! I have switched back to using cartridges and have ditched the mod tubes! I was getting blow by and resin loss probably due to the black o-ring being misaligned. This is unacceptable so I poured the unspent resin back into the tubes. UPDATE 6-22-23 I keep hitting the TDS button on the CR to expect to see it go to 1...but still reads 0 this system with the mod is amazing! Keeps going and going rinse after rinse!!!

    Please post a video on how you created your bypass system. Parts needed, best place to get them, etc. It's looks to be an almost absolute must have! If you've done this already, please share the youtube link. And you're spot on - this should definitely be built into the unit from the factory. At the least a separate add-on option! A very smart idea. I just received my dic-20 and put it together yesterday. Watching a few videos on it now to learn from other folks experience. So glad I came across your video. Thank you.

    I have done this, but I have a carbon filter and a portable water softener inline prior. I do the complete was with the system on. I would say I get close to 4 months of washing and that is doing two vehicles a week on a half bag of the refill resin.

    This damn thing has been on my radar for two years or more. Inflation sure has turned this into an expensive unit but I still plan on buying it regardless. I do not have running water in my apartment garage so I the goal is to use this system and fill my five gallon military style water jugs until I get a 60 gallon tank for detailing. I have been using distilled water for most personal washes and at 1.30 a gallon adds up quick. The CR Spotless system would be much cheaper!

    I have this system but my water is very hard. 500+ and the resin lasts 3 Ford F350 truck washes (15 on the onboard meter). I installed a water filter before the inlet to the CR and gained 2 more washes. I have the RV mods conversion as well. My trucks are black and I hate water spots so I can either buy resin for easy final detailing or work my tail off to remove as many spots as I can get to with tap water. I’ll pay for convenience!!!!! It works great, it just takes a lot of resin if you have hard water.
    Side note, I use CR water start to finish. Every drop during a wash goes through the CR unit. I do not want any spots!!!!

      I get you!! You would be a perfect candidate for rinseless washing. Big truck and wanting perfect safe water spot free results. I recommend DIY DETAIL's Rinseless Wash. Good luck!

      Have you tried running reverse osmosis water through the DI filters? I'm researching this now for a home set up and so far I'm learning that if you install a reverse osmosis water system like people are putting under their kitchen sink, and you then store the water in like a 35-50 gallon tank, then pump that water through the DI filters and I'm finding info that says I'll get like 3000-4000 gallons of spot free water from the CR Spotless unit. Key is to eliminate the TDS in the water and RO systems will turn 400 TDS into 10-15 TDS.

    I have a cheaper setup the smaller one. but it is fixed in my garage. The feed for mine is water than has been filtererd and run from a water softner. In the first tank I added a 10 micron filter and only using resin in the second tank. Only used once, but this is just for my home washing needs. The resin needed to make de-ionized water is expensive. Anything you can do to reduce the mineral content before going through the DI filter media is worth it.

    Nice review, I have a 16,000 Pro Aqua water softener and the Spotless 20 DI system, would there be any issues with placing the water softener inline ahead of the Spotless 20 DI system? Or would be a waste of time and money?

    You can save a lot by regenerating the resin at home instead of throwing it away. I have this same system with the mod and it only cost me $50. You only need muriatic acid and lye powder.

      @@waxmanvids5015 I have a flow meter on my system so it tracks gallons for me and I’ve been getting the same volume as before. I’m going to make a video showing how to do it. • @waxmanvids5015
      @waxmanvids5015  Před 2 měsíci +1

      in gpm flow or gallons of good di water from the filters total? Ill answer both. as far as flow it is able to keep up with my 2 gallon per minute, active pressure washer. But I don't know if it can handle much above that… And as far as how much water I get out of it where I live, my ppm is 127 so I probably get 350 to 400 gallons of pure water out of the filters..

    I bought the system and I washed my vehicle about 5 times and then I started to get water spots. I was disappointed with the system. I must be using the system incorrectly. I called the company and all they said was that I needed new resin at a cost of $190. I think that’s crap.

    • @waxmanvids5015
      @waxmanvids5015  Před rokem

      the RC2-20 pair of refill cartridges is $139.00. I don't know why they quoted that high of a price. Also do you know your tds of your unfiltered water by chance? Did you get a few spots or all over entire vehicle? Sometimes I find if I dont do a thorough rinse I miss some soap residue that leaves some mineral spots.

    • @MercedesMechanic
      @MercedesMechanic Před 7 měsíci

      What they won't tell you is that if you run the water through a reverse osmosis system into a holding or 30-50 gallon pressurized tank the water will end up with like 5-15 TDS and once the TDS is that low, you should get a few thousand gallons of spot free water from the CR Spotless system. I guess they don't tell people this because they want to sell more refills faster. I'm looking into this stuff this week to build a home setup and so far thats what I'm finding out.

    isn't that the same resin for water softeners? so this thing is basically a very expensive and inefficient water softener because it can't recharge the resin.

      @@waxmanvids5015 talked to one of my close friends who works in the science field. he basically said this thing is the next level to what a water softener is and is mainly used in labs, tooling and manufacturing. he basically said, using deionized water is a super expensive way to wash your car. and that a good water softener system would produce a spotless wash unless your inspecting your car with a magnifying lens or microscope.😂
