I used to bartend..this old man used to come in every single day and play this on the jukebox 10 times in a row. One day he died suddenly and all of us bartenders (4 of us) recieved a letter with a 1000.00 check from his estate. It fit this song so much!

My son passed away a few years ago, and after the memorial, as I was driving away, I heard this song for the first time, and I felt that my son was there with me, that he caused me to hear it. Ever since then, I have fond feelings when I hear this song. My son liked beer and was a very friendly guy. Thank you everyone for all your very kind comments. Know that if your loved one has died, that they will often be visiting you, hanging out with you, even if you don't see them, because their spirit is not dead. They just had to go to their next adventure in another dimension. A few people told me that they have seen his spirit and they told me his message for me. Some people have that ability. I was very young when this came out, only 6, my grandfather and I loved this song, listening to it while at off-road parks flirting with women, out fishing on the lake, and even at bonfires, at 8 I started playing guitar, he bought my first one, and when he passed away when I was 15, a month before my birthday, I didn't cry, I played this song until I figured out how to play it on guitar, and I showed up to his funeral, and sang it, I still go out there to the family cemetery to take care of it, clean off the headstones, and I'll sit there next to his grave, I'll talk like he's still there, and then I'll get back to work, sometimes I go up and play guitar since it's in the middle of the woods, but this song was our song, I miss you old man, I'll see you again someday on two wheels together, once again, until then keep speeding down those streets of gold with that Harley of yours

This song popped into my head at the most random time today. My pops loved this song, & would blast it as we drove down the dirt roads on our reservation in his pickup truck, windows rolled down, & sang it at the top of his lungs. A memory of my childhood that I’ve always held so close to heart, because he was so happy. My pops passed away July 2nd, 2020. I sat next to his bed, holding his hand, talking to him, reminiscing, & I sang this song to him one last time. Thank you Billy.

my dad died a two years ago. this was his and my favorite song. we used to sing it together all the time. I sang this for his funeral. I started crying in the middle of singing it. They told me I could sit down and stop if it was too hard. I shook my head and kept singing. I was singing with tears running down my face barely able to breath but I knew I just had to for him. I found this on the radio today going to the graveyard today because im gonna go every year for the anniversary of his death.. which was today. I miss him but for some reason hearing this on the radio gave me comfort. Made me feel like maybe it was him showing me he was still here and he's okay. I love and miss him. I wish he was still here..
You are stronger than I am. My dad died as well and this was his favorite song. I wanted to play it at his funeral but I couldn't bring myself. It was very painful to listen to, I would bawl alone in the car if it came on. Almost 6 years later, it brings comfort to me. I don't know where you stand with belief and I'm not here to preach to you. However I do believe in something after and I do believe we are sent signs by loved ones to comfort us. So yes, I think it is very possible this song was sent to you by him. The best advice I can give you is open up to allow yourself to see the signs that are given to us from the other side. I believe you will be surprised by what you see and it will comfort you. He is ok and he's letting you know that you will be ok too. :) You will get to see him again, just be patient and live life to it's fullest knowing he's watching over you.

Just listened to this about 50x, no joke. This song just hits my soul. It makes my heart feel so good. Brings me back to the old times of the 1970 & 1980s. The good ol days.
This was my dad's favorite song up to the day he died. Every time it would come on while we were going down the road he would tell me to turn it up. I was an only child and my mom passed away January 22 when I was 18. From then until my dad passed away August 22, 9 years after my mom, him and I were the best of friends. In between that, I met the love of my life, my best friend, and now my wife of 5 years. Exactly 9 months to the day my dad passed away, my wife and I had our first child, my son which shares my dad's name. This song will never leave me the rest of my life and I will never listen to it without thinking of dad and I will always turn it up for him. Some don't believe in God and if you don't that is perfectly fine. But I do and even though he takes away, he also gives. So thank you Billy for this song. God is great and people sure are crazy.

One of my dads favorite songs, he never listens to the radio. When he bought me my truck I only had a permit, I always asked him to ride with me for legal reasons and because he's one of the most experienced drivers I know, because of his career with Eagle and other truck companies. I turned on the radio because I simply enjoy listening to music, and he never told me to shut it off because it was my truck. This song came over the radio and he turned it up. He smiled and sang along to the song. I did the same because seeing him smile made my day. This song will always be close to my heart even when I'm nearing the end of my days. I turn it up when it comes on, we still catch it together some times. I have my license now so we don't ride together often, but I still light up when it comes on. My father just had a successful surgery to remove his colon cancer, I thank God every chance I get for that. But I know he's nearing his end. He's lived a full life, raised 4 kids, two with his current wife my mother. I'm sure he's plenty content having seen us grow up. If I get the chance I want to play this to all his friends and family after his funeral.

I’m a 25 year old 6’7” dude sitting here crying typing this. I was at the bar last night and sat next to this dude he said he was songwriter and is kinda famous, I’m thinking blah blah blah yea, just another drunk trying to be friends with the big dude in the bar. He told me he was a marine, he’s in his mid 30’s. I thanked him for his service. Somehow or another we got on the topic of cancer, i said i just started walking again from an osteosarcoma (starts in the bone) and had a 17lb tumor removed from my left pelvis, and was laid up for 9 months. Then he started tearing up, and he told me he’s been fighting stomach cancer and insurance has been denying him to get the right treatment. (I went through the same exact thing) we talked how insurance is a joke, turns out we have the same insurance. This whole time he’s crying to me. He told me he’s accepted that he’s going to die soon, i said i felt the same and that i stopped chemo early because it was so tough. We drank more and talked for a few hours, he sang karaoke and asked me to cheer him on LOL. And i gave him my surgeons info and he added it in his phone and thanked me and gave me a hug as i left... I’ve always loved this song because of the story. This song became very real for me last night, and I decided to watch the music video for the first time tonight. I’ve played it about 4 times. I will never forget Chris or that night. I hope to run into him again.... “God is great, Beer is good, and people are crazy.”
