Regarding working in Europe as a clinic neuropsychologist. Often the place for a neuropsychologist is in the hospital sector and in this case the native language is required. Here in the Netherlands the mental health field is known as GGZ. Since 'psychologist' isn't a protected title, anyone can 'be a psychologist'. A GGZ (Dutch Association of Mental Health and Addiction Care) Psychologist indicates the credential to practice. There is also the possibility to have a private practice or join a group or private clinic. In this case, the native language (relative to the country) is strongly advised, though not a requirement to practice. In this case you would require a working Visa and the easiest way to secure this is via being hired. There are other possibilities though leaving America / Canada to practice in Europe it is important to take your own health into account, (major life change, different culture, food, expectations, financial system, being 'away from home' and family and friends; integration; climate.) You've got to really want it and want it for all the right reasons. It is possible though being in alignment with it will make the decision and transition smoother. Good luck!
