I just had a student of mine, from 2004, tag me with this song. He said it made him nostalgic, and he wanted to thank me for being his teacher, and helping him love school. He told me when he started med school last fall, he played this on his first day. 🥰🥰

I’m retired now, but I often think about how much I loved teaching, especially the years with Kindergarten, and later my 1st/2nd grade blend classes. I’ve been fortunate to hear from at least 2-3 of my students every year or so, since 2018, they’re all in university, or graduating, and going into some wonderful professions. I always think about those I haven’t heard from, and hope they’re all doing well, and enjoying their lives. 🥰

I am 18 now, and just graduated high school. I remember my teachers used to make dvds of the highlights of our school year back in kindergarten/early elementary school. They always used this song. This is one of the most truthful songs about childhood ever written. The line that hits hardest is "We don't notice any time pass." That's so true. When you're a kid in elementary school, you're so focused on school, growing, and being a kid, that you really don't notice any time pass. And then one day you look around and your childhood is over, elementary school was 25 years ago, and you haven't heard from your friends in years.

Yea makes me think of my son who has been having issues with bullies and doesn’t want to ever go now and it breaks my heart. He was the most happy go lucky child before this… I knew he wasn’t ready yet but his dad had everyone else pressured me to make him go this year. Now we are having a lot of issues and he has a younger sister with asd and now he’s going to be evaluated as well…. I really wish I would’ve followed my gut on this I just knew he wasn’t ready. I was relieved when he was first having fun and making friends now my baby is having literal panic attacks and meltdowns constantly…. It’s been very hard. On top of that since October we’ve been sick with everything you can get including new strain of Covid which now has had us sick for over a month and him barely able to go as fevers have only went away a couple days at a time… as a mother it’s been so miserable and then seeing my son hurting so bad it’s even worse. Especially growing up myself in abusive household and literally doing everything completely differently to be sure my children always know how wonderful they are, how loved they are and to always talk with us. Now I feel I’m failing him but that’s irrational, I am doing and do everything that needs to be done including getting counselor involved at school and getting him with specialist etc… still though reminds me how hard it was for me and how lonely I was for many years and how I fell in with a bad crown in my later teen years because of this…. I couldn’t fit it anywhere else so I fit in there and it certainly didn’t help my already horrible home life before during and after my parents divorced as well… I hope your baby is having a lovely time.

When I was about 7 or 8 years old, I saw this girl with a cute little key chain. I said that i liked her keychain and she moved to a different seat. She would always mock me but i still had hope that we where gonna be friends. A year later we notice that we have similar interest and start talking to each other. We went to girlscout camp together and she would show me her shitty wolf drawings. When 5th grade came we knew that we weren't going to the same school. About a year later I notice that she had a Instagram and dmed her. We kept sending memes back and forth and had weird convos about our special interests. Now, 3 years after we are still in contact and haven't seen each other in years. This song made me realize how much I miss her.

Give me good ole rock n roll, rockabilly, hard rock, sweet soul, disco or funk. Rap is mainly garbage with few exceptions. Same with country and most rock bands which sound like they play drums with featherdusters. Then you have trash metal bands where all they do is scream and play drums probably overlaid at about 10k rpms. It's not real, not organic, not good. I can make music too, but nobody's lining up to buy or listen to it.

Does this song make anyone else cry? Every time, the heartache I feel makes me cry. I don't understand why, I know it's such a sweet upbeat song but it crushes my heart. It feels like grieving what life could have been if we didn't overcomplicate everything as adults. Or maybe the loneliness and isolation of adulthood. I don't know. Something about it just makes me cry, every single time.

my cat died yesterday, it was 3:20 AM, and I decided to go check on her, the last time I checked on her she was breathing deeper and deeper, laying down in front of the open pantry, I pet her and told her I loved her, it was around 1:20 AM at that time, little did I know that would be the last time I'd talk to her. when I walked out, the lights were off except for one small light in the kitchen, barely emitting light on where she was, I looked at her, and realized... her mouth and eyes were wide open, she was laying on the ground,,, now I've had her for what... 10 years now? I couldn't believe what I saw, I didn't want to witness it, I just hope she passed peacefully in her sleep, that's what I wanted for her.
she was my best friend, I couldn't spend as much time with her as I got older because I developed an allergy to her, but I still love her dearly, she's up there with another one of my furry friends. Rest well Molly and Ben, I love you both. thank you for being there when I was a kiddo. 💗💕

Today is my final day of high school, thankfully ready for college, but man this has a different feeling to everything that I had worked for. Everyone that I met, the people that will stay and the people that have left. Struggling with anxiety was a challenge, but I was thankful to have the friends to help me in those times. It's been a long ride, but I'm glad to be moving on to new rodes, peace and love to you all.

I just graduated highschool too and this song hits very hard but it's a new chapter of our life. This song is like looking at an old photo , it's kinda a painful at first but then it's like "wow , that actually happened" . It's a weird feeling and you are not alone . I wish you the best in college!
