despite all that, StateOfMercy does a good job of making the RTL vocals fit the mix.
@@Sk8rocka it's a great idea. But it works to make a RTL tone on Justice or Master, Black Album vocals are too low in comparison to RTL. I love this man work so far, but RTL vocals on Metallica just don't work for me.

I love these. My only critique would be that the intro feels maybe a little too slow, even by Black Album standards. And the bridge section could have been more thick with the ridiculously layered "wall of guitars" mix. But other than that, I love the "gunshot" snare and slower/pitch-corrected vocals. Great stuff.

I know you're done doing this but just a suggestion, when you rework something older to a newer album, you could pick vocals from some live gig of that tour so that the voice would be close to the studio performance.

True to Black Album form - the whole idea was to strip the songs back and make them shorter and punchier - I believe Bob Rock would’ve made the same call.

One of my favorites so far.
Incredible nuance...the timing and chord placement is spot on. The drum and guitar arrangement variances are perfect...the extended intro..it's a perfect treatment and why I generally dislike the Black album...don't get me wrong there are some great times on it but I've always thought it was underwhelming compared to the previous albums
