صحافية وكاتبة وروائية ومترجمة لبنانية. بدأت مشوارها المهني في "تلفزبون لبنان" كمذيعة ومقدمة برامج، ثم التحقت بـ"صحيفة النهار"، فكتبت في الصفحة الأدبية وترأست تحرير "مجلة جمالك" الشهرية. لها مؤلفات عديدة منها "المشهد الأخير" و"حين يشق الفجر قميصه" و"تماثيل مصدعة ". وقد حققت روايتها "أنتعل الغبار وأمشي" نجاحاً كبيراً فترجمت إلى الإنكليزية ودخلت في القائمة النهائية لـ"جائزة بوكر" لعام 2008 .
أوجد برنامج "مرايا" أسلوباً جديداً أكثر رقيا للحوار المتلفز، ومن خلاله نجح ريكاردو كرم في أن يقدّم لجمهوره حوارات كشفت الكثير عن الحياة الخاصة لأكثر من ٢٠٠ شخصية عربية وعالمية، فحققت أعلى نسب المشاهدة آنذاك، وصار البرنامج محطة ينتظرها كل راغب في التعرّف الى فصول من حياة تلك الشخصيات وكشف ما خفيَ منها.
May Menassa, born in 1939 in Beirut, is a Lebanese author, critic and translator. She studied French literature prior to pursuing a career in journalism. Since 1969, she has also been a critic for the Lebanese newspaper An-Nahar. Menassa is the author of several novels and children's books. She has also translated French literary works into Arabic. Her novel “Anta'il al-Ghubar wa Amshi” (Walking in the Dust) was shortlisted for the inaugural Arabic Booker Prize.
“Maraya” took the basic Arabic talk show to new levels where Ricardo Karam explored the personal life of over 200 important guests while gaining the highest television ratings for a show in this category. Aired during peak time, “Maraya” became essential viewing for those who like to know the real story behind the story.
