- This song was written by Ruthie Gorton of Los Angeles, and released in 1973 on What Now People?, a collection of protest and folk music. The song itself is perfectly summed up in this quote from its artist:
"It is one of history's most bitter lessons that the oppressed can become the oppressor. But the past sufferings of a people can never be used to justify the persecution of another people." -Ruthie Gorton (from the liner notes)
This song, as Gorton states, intends to "help expose the twin lies" which say
1) that opposition to Zionism is anti-Semitic
2) that Zionism is in the interests of the Jewish people

Congratulations on your return!🎉
Wow you back
Note, I don't think this was "released in 1973". If you look into it, you can find a page for that album which states the 1973 date but elsewhere on the page also says "issued in 1978". And the latter makes more sense since this is volume 3 of that album, and volumes 1 and 2 were released in 1975 and 1977, respectively.
Anyway... absolutely wonderful!
Blud came back from the dead just to politically dunk us 💀💀💀

Isreal da best
Irregardless of one's stance on the I/P shitstorm?
I have to say this song was unexpectedly bad. The lady is just speaking, but lenghening some words to sound kind of musical.
Most talented Reform Jew
@@peopleskingdomofwolcottia If you meant it maliciously as I assume, we can talk about your singing skills.
@@Seer_Of_The_Woodlands I am indeed much more talented than she is, though honestly it doesn't take much.
Obviously don’t agree with the message but thank you for posting.
Bro what???
@@FedeTL she imply, basically outright say, anyone who thinks Israel has a right to exist is a fascist.
@@FedeTL what do you mean? I don’t agree with the message. It is quite simple.
@@KaiserCeaser and why don't you agree? are you an eye for an eye type of person? is one suffering corrected by causing another? what if another nation did the same to you, came and gave your country to someone else ? what if someone came and took your country from you and then made you a second class citizen? break into your home and give it to someone else? so what part of the statement do you not agree with? what part of freedom do you not accept? would you like the same for your own country or people? so what is so simple? are you on the side of freedom or tyranny?
you get what you sow, and Israel has been sowing this conflict since its birth.
if you are American, would it be nice if the English came and took your country, if you are not American, would it still be nice if the same thing happened to your country?
@@Seer_Of_The_Woodlands I’m Israeli. And yeah people came and stole our land they are called Arabs. We simply regained our land, which has been ours for thousands of years. They occupied and colonized our land. We hold no grudge. They are not “second class citizens” they have the same rights as us. Even though they are genocidal we have been trying for peace, they seem to be barbarians who slaughter innocents.
Already that song is blasphemous
What
@@DeVolksrepubliek Yep. I can tell that it's sung by either Secular or Reform/"Conservative" Jews, who are heretics. They don't want an Israel because they know the Talmudic punishment they ought to face.
@@DeVolksrepubliek he seems to be a nut head.
@@DeVolksrepubliek lady straight up states anyone who thinks israel has a right to exist a fascist.
Palestine belongs to Israel 🇮🇱
